As always, thank you for all the support you give us. All of us at STAF are so thankful for your kindness and generosity and we wish you and your families a very Happy Thanksgiving!
EASY WAYS TO HELP!

Simply 'load' your card for any amount at the Courtesy Desk or Register and then use it to pay for groceries. Kroger then donates a percentage of the sales to STAF.

SophiaRESIDENT SPOTLIGHT - SOPHIA
When's the last time you gazed into a pair of beautiful, brown eyes and fell in love?  Well, it happens to me every time I visit Sophia at STAF.  She's one sweet girl and whoever has the honor of adopting her will be one lucky dog (I mean human)!!

Sophia came to us in early spring as a very pregnant stray.  A stranger brought her into STAF after finding her alone on the streets and we suspect that she may have been mistreated by a previous owner.  Soon after arriving, she gave birth to 3 brown-eyed girls, Blanche, Rose and Dorothy.  The puppies were adorable Chocolate Lab's and were quickly placed in their forever homes.

Sophia did not recover as expected from her pregnancy and after further testing we learned that she had a serious case of heartworm disease.  We almost lost her!!  It was touch and go for several weeks. After months of treatment, restricted activity and lots of "tlc" from STAF volunteers, she has made great strides in her recovery, never once losing her sweet disposition or love of human contact.

Sophia enjoys a nice ride in the car or a trip to the park for a long walk.   She is great with children and other dogs, easy to handle on a leash and loves to snuggle and cuddle.  Her sweet demeanor has never wavered over these many months and it's time now to find this girl a permanent home.

She is a small Chocolate Lab/Mix and has a constant smile on her face.  There is nothing she loves better than being close to you and we're pretty certain she'd tell you the place she loves to be most is in your lap or by your side.

Sophia is extremely intelligent, understands many common commands (sit, stay, down, etc.) and is the first dog to stick her paw through her run to get your attention!  She's loves a good belly rub and a treat to finish off a nice walk.

We know that Sophia would do well in a family with children and other animals and would adapt easily to a new environment.  If you or someone you know is looking for a "special" forever companion we've got just the girl for you.  Please stop by to visit Sophia during STAF Adoptions - Thursday 6:00-8:00pm and Saturday, 1:00-4:00pm.
PoohRESIDENT SPOTLIGHT - POOH
With the blustery winds starting to kick-up the falling leaves in Cincinnati, I was reminded of the childhood stories of Christopher Robin and his friends in the Hundred Acre Wood. This led me to think about our cat named Pooh, who lives in Room 5.

Her name is well deserved as she is soft as a Winnie the Pooh stuffed toy and like the bear, she is a little tubby, but unlike the fabled bear, she lacks in shyness. Pooh's big round face and eyes will cause an immediate smile and "ahhh" to escape from your lips. As soon as you touch her, her melodious purr will begin. She also likes to play hide-n-seek! Pooh will hide behind the bathroom door or the food container and when the volunteer says "Where's Pooh?" she leaps out as if to say, "Here I am, silly!"

Pooh came to STAF because her owner passed away and requested she come to us because he knew she would get the best care. She is once again looking for a lap to sleep in, a couch to lounge on, and a bed where she can sprawl. Pooh will bring a light to your home and smile to the hearts of your family, so come visit her at STAF and decide if your home is right for her.

Interested in meeting Pooh? Stop by during STAF Adoptions - Thursday 6:00-8:00pm and Saturday, 1:00-4:00 pm
