NEHGS Comes West September 26, 2007
Join NEHGS President and CEO D. Brenton Simons, CGS President Jane Lindsey, and NEHGS Online Genealogist David Allen Lambert for a one-day conference devoted to helping you find your New England ancestors. The conference will take place at the historic Scottish Rite Center in Oakland, California. To register, fill out the registration form.
Family Legacies: Genealogical Resources for Chinese Americans
CGS member Jeanie Low is presenting this workshop on Saturday, October 27, 2007 from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the San Francisco Public Library in the Latino / Hispanic Room. The presentation will include these topics: interviewing family members, translating gravestones, accessing twentieth century immigration and naturalization case files (English), census records, and WWI draft records. Conducting research within a historical context and research management for all levels of researchers will be covered.
