Stephanie Baron, MBA ‘10 is the recipient of the 2011 Distinguished Graduate of the Last Decade Award. Both will be honored at the Leadership Awards Dinner. In addition Walsh will award Matthew Cullen, President & COO, Rock Ventures and Michael Brennan, President & CEO, United Way of Southeast Michigan with the Jeffery W. The LaunchPad serves students and alumni who aspire to entrepreneurship. Some LaunchPad participants simply use networking linkages and workshop offerings as they explore entrepreneurship as a possible career option. Others seek help from internal LaunchPad consulting to brainstorm or develop their business idea. LaunchPad is hosting many workshops during the 4th quarter covering such topics as starting your own consulting business, crowd-funding, building a website and the legal pitfalls of an on line business. Now Offering Soft Skills Programing
Walsh College has prepared a program to coach individuals on the importance of soft skills in the workplace. The future differentiator for job candidates, and the businesses that hire them, will be the soft skills - the non-technical, intangible, personality-specific skills that determine strengths of a leader, team member, listener, negotiator, and conflict mediator.
