Alumna hired to reintroduce Fiat in North America
Laura J. Soave, BBA 1995, has been hired as a brand manager for Auburn Hills based Chrysler. Soave was formerly general manager of experiential marketing for Volkswagen. She was hired on March 10 by Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne to reintroduce the Fiat brand to the United States and Canada after a 27-year absence. Soave is the first Chrysler brand manager brought in from outside the Chrysler and Fiat companies since Marchionne took over in June 2009. Additional info on Soave's hiring can be found here.

B2B Networking Breakfast
The Walsh College Alumni Association hosted a B2B Networking Breakfast on February 23, 2010, at the Troy Campus. The event was well attended, and those who attended had the opportunity to participate in structured networking with alumni and fellow business professionals. Alumni Reception Naples, FL
Walsh College held a cocktail reception for alumni in the Naples area on March 23, 2010, on the ocean lawn at the Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club. The event was well attended by alumni and friends.   Guests mingled with college staff and fellow alumni before watching the beautiful sunset over the gulf. This  is one of the many events held annually for out-of-state alumni.  

Spring Training Game
Walsh College hosted an alumni event in Lakeland, Florida on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at the Tiger's spring training stadium, the Joker Marchant Stadium. The event was well attended. Alumni and friends had a barbeque at the stadium, and  enjoyed the Tigers versus the Yankees. Unfortunately, the Tigers lost, but Walsh alumni had a ball! This event is held annually, as well as many other out-of-state events.

Call for 'Distinguished Alumni Award' Nominations!
This award celebrates an alumnus from the college who has achieved exceptional personal and professional recognition. Nominees must have received a bachelors or higher degree from Walsh College. The candidate may have made exemplary civic contributions to their community. In addition, candidates must have a record of outstanding service to and support of Walsh College.

Once each year, nominations will be accepted from alumni, faculty and staff, and friends of Walsh College. The Alumni Association will assist in selection and the President of the College will bestow the award at the Walsh College Leadership Awards event.

Nominees must be living at the time of the nomination. The award may not be conferred in absentia; however, it may be granted posthumously.

Call for 'Graduate of the Last Decade Alumni Award' Nominations!
Walsh is currently seeking nominations for the Walsh College Graduate of the Last Decade Alumni Award from alumni, faculty, staff and friends of Walsh College. Nominees must have graduated from Walsh with either a Bachelor or Masters degree within the last ten years. The award recognizes early outstanding achievements in a chosen profession as well as contributions and service to the community and Walsh College.

The 2010 Walsh Scholarship Raffle is underway and if you would like the chance to win some extra cash then you’ll want to be sure to purchase your tickets! Congratulations to Walsh College MBA student Brandon Chesnutt, who was named to Crain’s Detroit Business 2010 list of “Twenty in their 20’s.” This annual award program highlights individuals in their 20’s who have already made – or are on their way to making – significant achievements in the metro Detroit area.
