Back To Business Image Tips
We are well into September; vacations are over, school has started, and it's back to business. Are you re-energized and ready to take your career to the next level? A little tweak to your image will help.
If you want to be taken seriously regardless of your profession, it is important to look the part. What that means in your field of work will be unique; the "rules" are not the same. Example: people in the financial fields (banks, analysts, accountants, etc.) are wearing suits, ties, skirts and pumps. The technology professionals (IT, software development, etc.) are wearing jeans and T-shirts.
Suggestions that will apply across all professions:
- Project an "I care" attitude not an "I don't care" attitude with your wardrobe.
- Dress for the position you want, not the one you have.
- Keep hygiene in check.
- Make sure your clothes fit well. A good tailor may be needed.
- Pay attention to the details.
- It's not quantity it's quality that counts.
- Don't wear offensive messages.
- Yes, there is such a thing as being too sexy for work. The more skin you show, the less professional you will appear.
- What you see on television, magazines, and movies is not always appropriate attire and may be sending the wrong message. Their images are designed to sell their product (TV show, movie, advertisement, etc.); they are often glamorized, inappropriate, and not realistic.
- Keep current. Discard old, warn out, dated pieces. A few new additions to your wardrobe will help you feel re-energized.
- Following the trends is fine if it works for you and your career. If not, don't be concerned about the "latest fashions;" wear what makes you look and feel good.
- If you are not sure... don't wear it. It won't do anything for your confidence and your image if you do.
I strongly believe a positive image opens all doors. I have proven it many times with my clients and myself. Try it; I know you will agree. Let me know your results, I'd love to hear your stories.

Fall Makeup Trends
Much of this season's focus is on the eyes, lined or done up in darker shades, amplified by rich lashes. Cheeks glow naturally in softer roses and corals, while lips are bathed in lighter, neutral pinks, bright or sheer browns, and reds.
