About Yin Yoga:
Yin yoga focus is on connective

knees. Postures are done on the floor incorporating
long holds with little or no muscle engagement.
The objective is to create space in the joints, body
and perhaps the students life.
About Lisa:
Lisa began practicing yoga in 2000 while
completing her BFA in photography, and started
teaching yoga in 2004.
Teaching Vinyasa flow and Yin yoga Lisa draws
from her many hours spent with master flow teacher,
Shiva Rea and " Mr Yin" Paul Grilley. Interested in
martial arts, Lisa received her red belt from Budokon
creator Cameron Shayne last summer.
Lisa's approach to teaching is open and
creative. Learning from and with her student's the
class becomes an organic give and take. |

Matt Lueders
Pilates Mat/Equipment Trainer
|
 |
|
Matt Lueders thinks Pilates is for EVERYONE. He nurtures his clients to
love their bodies at every stage of their development, and pushes them
to set new goals for athletic performance, self-awareness and the joy
of living. He believes that YOUR body is capable of surpassing your own
wildest dreams for it.
Matt came to Pilates after years of involvement in sports- baseball,
lacrosse, wrestling, football, biking, running and swimming- where the
limitations of painful injuries and severe asthma left him often
discouraged. Pilates completely changed his shape and performance,
allowing him to enjoy and excel in activities that were previously
off-limits.
Matt comes to Studio Blue from Studio 5 Pilates, the certifying studio
for the PhysicalMind Institute in Wellesley, Massachusetts. In his work
there, and previously at four other studios in New England, he
developed programs for clients aged fourteen to eighty-five. An article
about him in Boston Spirit Magazine (January '08) tells how his clients
get more out of yoga, seated meditation, breath work, riding, dance,
tennis, soccer, skiing, running, swimming and EVERY other activity in
their lives! |

About Forrest Yoga:
Created by Ana Forrest over the past 30 years, this method is now
codefied and taught worldwide by Ana and her teachers. Forrest Yoga is
about "Embodying Spirit" and working free from that which drains your
energy, both physically and emotionally. It focuses on breath
awareness, core strengthening and intense pose sequences to help
students go deeper within themselves. It uses mild heat (80 degrees)
and longer holds of the poses with deep breathing to oxygenate and
rejuvenate every cell in your body. You will learn to develop a
connection to feeling your body while working honestly at your physical
and emotional edges. Forrest Yoga is an inspiring practice that
cultivates strength, flexibility (of both body and mind!) and awareness
with the purpose to heal, grow and deepen your relationship to your
authentic self.
About Angelina:
Yoga, for Angelina, is about awareness, intention and cultivating
connection. It is a way to work toward balance, both on, and off, the
mat. She loves to fascinate on the balance between effort and grace,
strength and softness, discipline and playfulness. By deepening our
awareness, calling ourselves back into presence again and again, we can
come to know ourselves and acknowledge our true wants and values. By
setting an intention and coming back to that intention again and
again...this is how we can create change, healing and growth. This
balance, awareness and intention can give us great connection...to
ourselves, to our friends, and our larger community.
Angelina is an Associate Forrest Yoga Instructor. She has been teaching
conscious movement since 2001 and is passionate about the healing
properties of compassion, moving and living mindfully and a sense of
humor and wonder! Click for more about Angelina |
Gyrokinesis Series
Instructed by Heather Sielaff
GYROKINESIS® exercises allow one to work on the entire
body through seven natural elements of spinal movement: forward,
backward, left side, right side, left twist, right twist and circular,
as well as all other joint articulation.
This approach systematically and gently works the joints and muscles
through rhythmic and undulating movements. These movements stimulate
the body's internal organs while different corresponding breathing
patterns are integrated along with the movements. Fluidity is the key.
Postures are not held for long periods of time. Instead, postures are
smoothly and harmoniously connected through the use of breath, making
exercises appear and feel more like a dance and swimming than like
traditional yoga.

Introducing PIlates and Yoga to Kids
By Dan Walton
|
 |
|
We can all probably agree that the school systems are lacking proper exercise. I know that schools across the country are having to cut back and budget. Fitness has been part of the cut backs.
In an age of computers and desk work. Kids, more than ever need to be properly educated about their bodies and posture. They have the ability to change some of what I see on a daily basis.
Clients suffering from tights hips, aching backs and overly tight and stressed necks. The children of today have the ability to change this from happening to them. Through education we can help give them correct posture for today, tomorrow and for the rest of their lives.
I have already started introducing pilates and yoga to the Metropolitan Learning Center, St. Agatha School and Concordia College.
If you would like to see change in your kids school, send me an email. The Studio Blue staff and I are fully dedicated to this cause.
Thanks for the help!
