New Classes
Katie Varenne - Pa-Kua Martial Arts
This highly effective and adaptive art is most recognizable by its circular form of combat. It use the opponent's momentum against him and through a thorough study of self defense and sparring techniques creates a versatile and flexible martial artist. It stresses personal development and focuses on the individual needs and abilities of the student. The level of difficulty grows with the student, meaning you can start at any fitness level.
Each hour long class includes cardio, flexibility and coordination development, and martial techniques working the entire body.
Saturday morning 9AM - 10AM Trial class: FREE Per class rate: $12 5 classes: $50 Private instruction (per hour): $40
Heather Sielaff - Gyrokinesis Series
GYROKINESIS® exercises
allow one to work on the entire body through seven natural elements of
spinal movement: forward, backward, left side, right side, left twist,
right twist and circular, as well as all other joint articulation.
This approach
systematically and gently works the joints and muscles through rhythmic
and undulating movements. These movements stimulate the body's internal
organs while different corresponding breathing patterns are integrated
along with the movements.
Fluidity is the key.
Postures are not held for long periods of time. Instead, postures are
smoothly and harmoniously connected through the use of breath, making
exercises appear and feel more like a dance and swimming than like
traditional yoga. Starting January 13th - February 3rd
Sunday 12noon - 1pm 4 week series - $40 (no make up classes) Minimum 3 people per class / Maximum 5 per class

New Instructor Angelina Vasile
Angelina is certified in Pilates mat and equipment by the Ellie Herman
Studios in San Francisco and has been teaching since 2001. Her
education includes study of the Janda method of neuromuscular
re-patterning, the Franklin method, resistive stretching, and Forrest
Yoga. She is greatly influenced by her time working under the
mentorship of Tom McCook at Center of Balance in Mountain View,
California and the Pilates method as taught by the PhysicalMind
Institute. Her movement studies began as a young athlete and runner,
and continued as she received a degree in Dance and Performance
Choreography. Angelina's teaching style incorporates her passion for
anatomy and kinesiology, athletics, Chinese medicine, martial arts,
dance and yoga. It's her goal to teach clients how to breathe deeply
and move consciously to find balance, strength and grace. She is
dedicated to her own practice and continued education to better serve
her clients and as a way to experience presence and joy in her own
life. She is passionate about growing peoples understanding of
themselves and their bodies! Skilled at working with a broad range of
clients, she especially loves working with injuries, athletes, the
elderly and those struggling with body image related disorders. When
not teaching, Angelina is usually found dancing, yoga-ing, playing in
the great outdoors, watching major league baseball, or baking.

How To Be Successful In 2008
Will Your New Year's Resolution Last More Than 30 Days?
Welcome to 2008!
Did you make a New Year's Resolution?
Was it different or a better one than say... 2007, 2006, 2005...?
In the seconds before the toast, did you catch yourself hoping, "This year will be the one...This year will be different!"
Well... how long did last year's resolution last?
A day? A week? A month?
Maybe, just maybe, something changed for you and the resolution actually stuck for the entire year.
But, I was reading someplace that roughly 90% of people who make a resolution actually break their resolution within 30 days. Who knows if that is true - so what is it about a resolution that makes it so difficult to keep?
I know that New Year's has passed and the odds aren't looking too good for keeping any resolutions the closer we get to the end of the month,
but what if you could keep this year's resolution?
Can you quickly think of just 2 ways that your life would be different if you could keep your New Year's resolution?
What if you learned a simple process that will ensure you stay on track with any resolution or goal you might choose to make in 2008...?
The process is called Beyond Goals™ and I learned it from a mentor of mine. According to him, there are 3 requirements for goals to work:
Create a goal with the End State Energy in mind - Get into the FEELING you will have when you achieve your goal. Act like an athlete who just
won a championship - they're not usually quietly telling themselves "good job, buddy" - they're jumping up and down, giving high fives, hugging everyone, yelling, laughing and crying! The End State Energy will carry you through to your goal when the going gets tough.
Create a goal using an Inductive Process - Before committing to a goal, get into the End State Energy just like Step 1. Notice what changes... You have more resources available here. To misquote Albert
Einstein, the solution to the current challenge will not be resolved with the thinking that caused the challenge in the first place. Get into a bigger Head & Heart-Space while in the End State Energy.
Goals that are Inclusive are more powerful - When you include the bigger solution along with the End State Energy you have automatically begun a process that is larger than the original goal and will likely lead you beyond it into something greater. End State Energy + a Bigger Head & Heart-Space = the life-changing solutions that you were unable to access from the problem state.
In a nutshell, it's really just attention-shifting from a problem to a solution. Perhaps you have heard, "...energy flows where attention goes."
If you find you have been caught in a problem that you can't seem to escape, then consider what 1 thing would make this problem absolutely
irrelevant. There are usually numerous possibilities or opportunities that will blow most problems right out of the water - it's just that we typically tend to get tunnel vision when confronted with a problem.
The community of teachers and healers at Studio Blue are available to help you focus your attention on what you want and assist you as you move into wellbeing. Remember to talk with them about your goals for 2008 and together you can create the End State Energy that will propel you forward.
If you have considered personal coaching or are one of those people on the continual path of self-improvement, then I encourage you to check
out the audio programs I have available at www.AttentionShifting.com. Soon there will be more than 40 different audio programs available to
support you in becoming an amazing individual.
The process I have shared with you is derived from Neuro-Linguistic Psychology (NLP). To learn more about NLP, visit my web site www.AttentionShifting.com. Here you can choose to download a free introductory audio program, "Intro to NLP", which creates an experiential environment in which you can learn more about NLP and the
practical ways it can be applied to your daily life.
Be Amazing in 2008,
