Happy New Year!
Greg Walloch News and Performances
  January 2008
Last year was quite stunning and it couldn't have happened without you! Here's a  quick look back at some of the highlights.

Greg Walloch and Amy SedarisI spun a yarn at The Moth: West Village Stories with hosts Amy Sedaris (pictured left) and Andy Borowitz. I was charmed and delighted to be a part of Sxip's Hour of Charm at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, MA and at Joe's Pub in New York City. Lea DeLaria's Super Gay Comedy Show was indeed super gay featuring Scott Thompson at Comix. Things got hot in Brooklyn at Galapagos Art Space with Desiree Burch's SMUT! I loosened my belt at The 2nd Annual New York City Binge Festival by Working Man's Clothes Productions. I answered the question Where Have You Been? Conversations on Travel hosted by Jeff Stark.

A big thanks to all the folks who came out to All The People You Love at The Cutting Room. Some of the people we loved: Mike Albo, Curtis Eller, James Braly, Craig Baldo, Daniel Cartier, Bogs Visionary Orchestra, Brent Eden McCoy, Project Jenny Project Jan, Bridget Everett, Jim Andralis, Larry Krone, Jackie Monahan and more. Look for All The People You Love in the new year!

Finally, do not miss
Sxip's Hour of Charm at Joe's Pub January 10th!

Sxip's Hour Of Charm
Joe's Pub at The Public Theater  - January 10th at  9:30PM
Sxip ShireyIn Sxip's Hour of Charm real life circus composer Sxip Shirey presents a high powered night of variety entertainment. Featuring: New music by Sxip Shirey utilizing regurgitated music boxes, human beat box and industrial flutes. Fresh from their succesful run at P.S. 122, Chicago's 500 clowns, present an excerpt from their comedy/tragedy Frankenstein. Dayna Kurtz's earthy nu-folk lullabies will make you forget to breathe. You dont know it but you've seen him in Spider Man 2, The Cell, The Grinch and Big Fish, contortionist Johnathan Nosan does things with his body that are illegal in certain states. Our favorite comedian/story teller Greg Walloch is funny, sweet and raunchy as hell. Gothic roots band VOCO's take on everything from Appalachian tunes to Bartok. Always a show-stopping visual and rhythmic pleasure. She'll be literally just off the plane from London, but Kalkia Hula Girl returns once again to make a rare appearance in NYC! Also a special appearance by our favorite human beat boxer Adam Matta. Sxip's Hour of Charm is unquestionably mesmerizing, endlessly entertaining, and is truly in a league of its own!

Sxip Shirey
"...conjures a world of infernal calliopes and cotton candy machetes wielded by Gypsy crones with angel feet..." --Silke Tudor, SF Weekly.

500 Clowns
"As the spreading infestation of skyscrapers cast long shadows over the East Village, an ember of a vanishing sensibility burned bright Saturday at P.S. 122: "500 Clown Christmas," from a Chicago troupe combining music, clowning and acrobatics, was in raucous motion." -New York Times

Dayna Kurtz
"...is the kind of artist who inspires wild-eyed zealotry among her fans, and there are three reasons for it: One, she's an artist's artist, one whose whiskeyed, determined alto often earns her comparisons with Nina Simone; two, while Europeans adore her, she's obscenely underappreciated in her own country; and three, her songs, which straddle a difficult space between jazz, rock, and folk, are pure poetry. " -All Music Guide

Johnathan Nosan
"A truly amazing contortionist who provides the show with its single most disturbing image"--The New York Times on Twyla Tharp's 'The Times They Are A-Changin'

Greg Walloch
"It's not often that the typically rough-and-tumble atmosphere of the comedy stage softens enough to allow such moments of delicate human tenderness." - Stephen Holden, The New York Times.

Kalki Hula Girl
"The cute cheerleader turned gymnastic-tastic hula queen with abs of steel". -Time Out London
