Shelter's Right Hand to host warehouse sale Saturday
Processing and Distribution Services, Inc. (PDSI)
and The Belsito Foundation are sponsoring a
Shelter's Right Hand Warehouse Sale on Saturday,
November 14, 2009, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the
PDSI warehouse (14141 Alondra Blvd., Santa Fe
Springs). Kick off the winter season with some
early holiday shopping! Sale items will include new
apparel for men, women and children. Men's coats,
women's dresses and sportswear, and a variety of
children's clothing and toys will be available at
exlusively low prices. All proceeds from the sale will
benefit the Women's and Children's Crisis Shelter.

Workplace Poster Requires Update

Due to EEOC Change, updates must be posted by Nov. 21
A mandatory change to the Equal
Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) notice
in the Employment Notices Poster must be posted by
November 21. The change is required by the
Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA),
signed by President George W. Bush on May 21,
2008. GINA is designed to prohibit the improper use
of genetic information in health insurance and
employment. Employers must begin to comply with
GINA on November 21.

From 1:30 - 5:30 PM on Thursday, November
19th, the Whittier Area Chamber of Commerce will
host a free QuickBooks class at the Chamber office
(8158 Painter Ave., Whittier, CA 90602). This
complimentary course is the Chamber's response to
an ever-increasing need to offer business owners
professional training which will strengthen their
competitive edge while offsetting the cost of skill-
training.
As a State-funded program, businesses must meet
eligibility requirements to attend completely free, but
ineligible businesses can still attend at minimal cost.

Dec. 4 & 5: Holiday Home Tour Showcases Whittier Homes

On Friday, Dec. 4 and Saturday, Dec. 5 from 10 AM - 4
PM, the Whittier Cultural Arts Foundation (WCAF) will
host the 2009 Holiday Home Tour. Area homes that
have been extensively decorated for the Holidays will
be showcased, including two artist homes and two
historic homes. Refreshments, opportunity baskets,
plants and other holiday gift items will be for sale.

Community Partners to Serve 3,000 Free Meals
First Family Church will be hosting its 5th annual
Thanksgiving FEST 2009 Sunday, Nov. 22 at 11:00
AM. The event will serve 3,000 free Thanksgiving
meals to families in need. First Family Church
distributes food weekly to those in need. During
the Thanksgiving season, First Family Church, along
with corporations, local businesses, organizations,
groups and its church community, partner to serve
meals to people from all walks of life.
