The Whittier City Council will hold its regular meeting
on Tuesday, November 10 at 6:30 PM in the City
Council Chambers in Whittier City Hall. The public is
encouraged to attend City Council meetings in order
to stay informed about issues which affect those who
live, work and play in Whittier.

11, the Whittier Chamber will host its popular Wake
Up Whittier networking breakfast at Presbyterian
Intercommunity Hospital (PIH). Rev up your

monthly Wake Up Whittier networking breakfast. The
breakfast includes a delicious breakfast and the
power business networking that the Whittier Area
Chamber is known for. More than 250 area business
representatives attend this breakfast each month,
making it an ideal locale for forming new professional
relationships.
This month's Wake Up Whittier networking breakfast
will include special recognition of the United States'
armed forces in honor of Veterans' Day. Remember -

FREE for eligible businesses
From 1:30 - 5:30 PM on Thursday, November
12th, the Whittier Area Chamber of Commerce will
host a free QuickBooks class at the Chamber office
(8158 Painter Ave., Whittier, CA 90602). This
complimentary course is the Chamber's response to
an ever-increasing need to offer business owners
professional training which will strengthen their
competitive edge while offsetting the cost of skill-
training. This QuickBooks course is a beginners
course, with more advanced levels to follow.
As a State-funded program, businesses must meet
eligibility requirements to attend completely free, but
ineligible businesses can still attend at minimal cost.

Now in its fifth year, First Family Church will be hosting
its annual Thanksgiving FEST 2009 Sunday, Nov. 22
at 11:00 AM. The event will focus on serving 3,000 free
Thanksgiving meals to families in need. First Family
Church distributes food weekly to low-income
families, homeless and anyone in need. During
the Thanksgiving season, First Family Church, along
with corporations, local businesses, organizations,
groups and its church community, partner to serve
meals to people from all walks of life.
With today's soaring costs and struggling economy,
the number of those who suffer is growing and your
