The Whittier City Council will hold its regular meeting on Tuesday, October 27 at 6:30 PM in the City Council Chambers in Whittier City Hall. The public is encouraged to attend City Council meetings in order to stay informed about issues which affect those who live, work and play in Whittier.

Each meeting features an oral communications period during which the public can address the City Council regarding any item of City, Agency or Authority business, making it an excellent way to have direct communication with the officials who make things happen in our city.

From 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, the Whittier Chamber will host its monthly Tasty Tuesday networking lunch at Orchard's Fresh Foods. Bring plenty of business cards and an appetite for good food and awesome networking. Menu items will include a BBQ side and beverage with your selection from the Orchard's Fresh Foods BBQ menu.

The Tasty Tuesday networking lunch is a quick power- networking session with 25-50 local business representatives. This event is a must for area businesspeople that are short on time, but hungry for business!

Enjoy tricks and treats at the Whittier Chamber's Halloween Spooktacular Mixer, hosted by Salon Cheval (13505 Whittier Blvd.) on Thursday, October 29, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Tasty appetizers provided by California Grill, Ciao Italia Panini Grill, Joy Sushi and Los Chilito's Mexican Food will be served as Salon Cheval opens its doors for an evening of hair-raising entertainment, hip music provided by RMH Entertainment, great networking and scintillating surprises!

Costumes are encouraged. Be sure to remember plenty of business cards so you are ready to meet your next customer (ghostly, or otherwise)! The fundraising guild of the Intercommunity Child Guidance Center (ICGC) cordially invites the Whittier community to the 41st Annual Holiday Luncheon, slated for Monday, Nov. 2 at the Radisson Hotel Whittier (7320 Greenleaf Ave., Whittier).The popular community event features a delicious lunch and fabulous auction items. The boutique and auction will open at 10 AM and lunch will be served at 11:15 AM. Each attendee is encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy for ICGC's toy collection and attendees will receive one FREE raffle ticket for each toy they bring to the luncheon.
