The Whittier City Council will hold its regular meeting on Tuesday, August 25 at 6:30 PM in the City Council Chambers in Whittier City Hall. The public is encouraged to attend City Council meetings in order to stay informed about issues which affect those who live, work and play in Whittier. Tuesday's meeting will be a joint meeting of the Whittier City Council, the Whittier Redevelopment Agency and the Whittier Utility Authority.

Each meeting features an oral communications period during which the public can address the City Council regarding any item of City, Agency or Authority business, making it an excellent way to have direct communication with the officials who make things happen in our city.

Whittier Blvd.) as California State Senator Ron Calderon, Whittier City Council representatives and Whittier Chamber officials celebrate the liberation of the Fred C. Nelles property from the State of California.

It has been a long and arduous fight, but the community of Whittier, with the help of Senator Ron Calderon, has immerged victorious, finally convincing the state to abandon the property and no longer consider it for additional correctional use. Please join us on Wednesday at 9 AM as we officially drive the "FOR SALE" sign into the Fred C. Nelles Property!
