With the July 29, 2008 earthquake being the largest
California has felt in more than a decade, most
people have forgotten what catastrophic damage
could be caused and how to best prepare for the day
the "big one" will strike.
In an effort to be as on-
top-of-it as possible, PIH and
the Santa Fe Springs (SFS) Fire Department have
partnered together to offer a free disaster
preparedness lecture for community members.
"Earthquakes, Fires & Other Disasters: What You
Need to Know," will be presented by SFS Fire
Department Division Chief Scott Goodwin and Dr.
Steven Chin of PIH's Emergency Department at
10
a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2008, at PIH's
Blanchard Haendiges Auditorium, 12401 Washington
Blvd., in Whittier.
Those interested should register for this free lecture
by calling, (562) 698-0811 Ext. 2000.
