The Whittier Chamber will be holding its first meeting for the Chamber's Relay for Life team on Wednesday, April 23rd at 12 NOON. The Relay for Life is a 24-hour event on June 7-8th which raises important funds for the American Cancer Society.

In addition to raising funds for the American Cancer Society, the Chamber's Relay for Life team is a great way to make connections with an eclectic group of Chamber members. The Whittier Chamber's Education Committee is now seeking donations from the Whittier business community for its Educational Scholarship Fund, named in memory of Randy Basurto. The Scholarship Fund rewards deserving high school students from the Whittier Union High School District for their academic achievements and service to the community with a $500 scholarship.

Chamber members are encouraged to donate money to the cause, and there are several marketing values associated with different gift levels. Anyone wishing to contribute to the Randy Basurto Educational Scholarship Fund can send a check, made payable to the Whittier Area Chamber of Commerce, to 8158 Painter Avenue, Whittier, CA 90602.
