Meatless Mondays
Here's an idea that's good for you and the environment, too!
We all know that animal agriculture places a tremendous strain on our ecosystem. The growing, fertilizing and transporting of feed and animals, and even the animals themselves, all create carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gasses. We recently learned one person who switches to meatless meals one day per week saves the consumption of an average of 35 lbs. of meat over the course of a year. That's the carbon equivalent of driving a car for 45 hours straight while leaving all of the lights on back home. Pretty good savings for just making a simple switch to your eating regimen once a week!

We're Keen on Quinoa!
Quinoa (pronounced "KEEN-wah") is a highly nutritious South American seed that serves as a tasty and healthful stand-in for rice or couscous. Because of its high protein content and balanced set of amino acids, it is an excellent source of complete plant protein. It is an especially convenient source of high-quality protein for vegetarians. Quinoa grain has lower sodium content and is higher in calcium, iron, potassium and magnesium than wheat, barley, or corn. It is also gluten-free, easily digestible, and a good source of fiber.

As sole proprietor of skin-care clinic SKIN, Sara Turbeville struggled juggling back-to-back appointments with finding time to prepare the fresh, unprocessed food she preferred. She ended up resorting to frozen dinners more than she liked, and finally waved the white flag.

"I realized I needed to delegate this task, and the awesome Jackie Keller came to my culinary rescue! I was sick of additive-laden frozen meals, and knew my body deserved the highest quality 'fuel' possible. I consider NutriFit a smart business expense. Having super healthy & delicious food always available in my fridge frees up my time to accomplish more important (and for me, fun) business activities!"

I signed up with Nutrifit in March of 2009 and have since lost over 25 lbs. of body fat. Nutrifit has taught me so much about portion size, nutrition, and self care!

My mother died at a young age due to colon cancer and her death forced me to take a look at my health and make some changes. As such, losing weight has been something I've endeavored to do this year, not just for the sake of how I look and what size I wear, but mainly for health reasons. Still grieving from my mother's recent death, I wanted to start losing weight immediately but didn't feel like I had the time or ability to jump into a diet program where I had to spend time cooking for myself. Then I found Nutrifit and it has changed my life for the better in an incredibly positive way! At a time when I needed help and nurturing, Nutrifit has provided just that. When I receive my perfectly cooked, delicious meals it feels like I'm getting room service from a fancy hotel's restaurant, but even better because these meals are nutritionally balanced and are helping me steadily lose weight.
