WE are THEIR voice... Help make every dog a Lucky Dog!
Generally, animal cruelty can be divided into two categories: neglect and intentional cruelty.
Neglect is the failure to provide an animal with the most basic of requirements of food, water, shelter and veterinary care, and is often the result of ignorance on the part of the pet owner.
Intentional cruelty occurs when an individual purposely inflicts physical harm or injury on an animal.
Under state and local law, animal owners and caretakers must provide nutritious and wholesome food and water; dry shelter with adequate ventilation and protection from direct sunlight; and proper veterinary care from a licensed professional as needed.
Causing an animal to fight another, intentionally harming or abandoning an animal is illegal.
If you witness animal Neglect or Cruelty, report it to your local animal control department or humane society immediately.
Animal fighting should be immediately reported to your local Police Department.

Tethering or Chaining dogs
in the city of Fort Worth
is
AGAINST THE LAW.
The Fort Worth City Council has approved an ordinance banning use of chains, ropes, tethers, leashes, cables or other devices to attach an unattended dog to a stationary object or trolley system. Under the new ordinance, the tethering of dogs still will be allowed under limited circumstances when the owner is present, such as at lawful animal events or city dog parks and during veterinary treatment, grooming, training or law enforcement activity.
(Those who violate the new ordinance could face a fine up to $2,000, but Animal Care and Control staff emphasize that they will work with residents to educate them on this new law.)
PLEASE report chained dogs in the city of Fort Worth by contacting Animal Care and Control at 817-392-3737.

The Chuck Silcox Animal Care and Control Center dedication ceremony and Spay/Neuter Clinic Grand Opening was held Saturday, February 21st in Fort Worth, and as part of the festivities, pet adoptions were offered at half price.
In an effort to help all the animals put their best paw forward, some groomers from Whisker Washers™ volunteered their services all day Friday, February 20th, giving baths, clipping hair and nails and spraying cologne. It was definitely a labor of love.
Great job Stephanie and Pam!
