Student Spotlight
Gumby Das
I want to thank Inner Fire Yoga for all of the encouragement and support over the years - it hasn't been easy.
For example, when I wrap my legs around my neck several times, I'll often hear people groan or gag. Sometimes they will even walk out of class and run to the bathroom. Haters, I'm just finding my "edge."
Whatever, if only they walked in my shoes. Although, I don't need shoes, because I'm made out of clay. and beeswax. Oh well. I do realize it could be much worse. I've seen other men my age try to touch their toes. It makes me chuckle inside, watching them struggle as I contort myself into various origami shapes.
I want to specifically thank Marit and Dar. They always completely ignore me and tell the other students to do the same. Then they always kindly ask me to never come back, that there's no point in my being there. Such kidders!
I love Inner Fire Yoga! |

Teacher Spotlight
Lady Zander Strap
Listen here Inner Fire Yoga students. I know you've been very bad and lazy and spoiled to near death... and now it is time to pay. I see your flabby bodies. I read your distracted minds. I see your yoga costume clothes, expensive towels, designer water bottles...
You will sweat, you will cry, you will moan and maybe even die... it's called tough chick love...New Jersey style... we slap ya up the side of your thigh and yell "Lock the Knee..Lock the Knee...!"
I am going to be your worst enemy, even worse than your Latte habit. I will give new meaning to blocks and straps! Your head will spin and your muscles will quiver. Inner Fire did not hire me to baby you. From the looks of you, you've been babied all of your life. Well, no more. It's Lady Zander Strap time. Step up to the line and take it like a real yogi....now breathe, concentrate, don't talk, welcome to the torture chamber.

Yoga Babies born to Inner Fire Yoga student Jennifer
Russ (March 15, 2011) - "Russ is our little miracle. I had a very easy pregnancy. I know the labor could have been much more difficult without learning how to breathe deeply. Thanks for such a wonderful community service Inner Fire!
Inner Fire Yoga would like to recognize all babies born to mothers practicing yoga in our community. If this is you, please email your baby photo and information to Inner Fire Yoga. Also, check out our yoga babies page. **Please be as discrete as you'd like to be with the information you provide.** |

New Class Outer Freezing Yoga
Sundays 3:30PM-5PM
We are always brainstorming how to better serve our students here at Inner Fire Yoga. And, the other day it hit us! Why are we so fixated on acclimating to high temperatures in Wisconsin? I mean really? What happens when you go to back bend while shoveling snow for the 100th time? Therefore, starting next week we will begin offering Outer Freezing Yoga. The heaters will be turned off and the AC on! We will be turning down our heat to 10 degrees F. What do you think?
Please note, you will still need to make sure to leave your socks and jackets outside the classroom. The hardcore among you may even want to try our new yoga thong for class. |
 The Yoga Path Breathing
by Carmen Hoehne, Inner Fire Yoga Manager
Listen up, if you gotta read a yoga studio newsletter to learn how to breathe, let me suggest you hold your breath for the next 10 minutes. I guarantee you'll remember how to breathe real fast. |

Yoga Medical News
Yoga is a Panacea
Researchers at UW Madison have discovered that daily yoga practice will improve just about everything. You name it. For example, 100% of participants were eventually able to touch their toes while bending at the knees. 100% of participants also performed wonderful at sweating when doing yoga in a heated room. Said one primary investigator "It was really quite amazing to see these people producing copious amounts of sweat. I've never seen anything quite like it." |

Exhale as the left foot goes behind the head, the right knee is brought up and you twist to the right. Inhale as the left arm comes up reaches around. Hold the twist for 5 breaths with arms clasped around both legs. Your gaze should be to the side.
