I attended my first IFY class in June of 2008. As I began to attend classes more frequently, I experienced all of the wonderful physical benefits that yoga has to offer. I built strength, felt more energized, and enhanced my flexibility. I noticed a major improvement in my tennis game, and I no longer experienced pain in my hips and shoulders. However, I quickly discovered that yoga is so much more than a physical workout. The true beauty of yoga is that it challenges me to be nonjudgmental towards myself and observe my own reactivity to obstacles that exist both on the mat and outside of the studio.
I truly believe that Inner Fire is a great place for one to grow in his or her yoga practice because of its immensely supportive community. The instructors are knowledgeable, personable, and encouraging. I always feel comfortable asking them questions about the poses after class. These instructors combined with the yogis that practice at IFY create an environment where we all learn from each other and support one another.
I have had such a wonderful experience with yoga that I have decided to participate in a Baron Baptiste Level I teacher training, thanks to Jackie's encouragement. I hope to gain a more in-depth understanding of the asanas so that I may one day share my love of yoga with others by teaching. I look forward to continuing to explore my practice and grow with the IFY community.

Amy Roland
Amy Roland discovered Hot Yoga with her husband David in 2008 and immediately fell in love with the mind/body connection. As a walking, biking and spinning enthusiast Amy found the calming, detoxifying effects of Hot Yoga a wonderful compliment to her very active lifestyle. Amy strives to create a safe and supported space where her students can let go and receive the pose, rather than working hard for it. Amy believes a strong, consistent yoga practice can open up our hearts and our minds transforming our way of living, both on and off "the mat" - that is, living life with a spirit of awareness, grace, and contentment. After an intense apprenticeship with Marit Sathrum, owner and Director of Inner Fire Yoga in Madison, Wisconsin and her attendence at Bikram's Advance Seminar June 2009 she is excited to share her enthusiasm and love for the very popular 90 minute series. |

Special Power Yoga Workshop with Jonny Kest Tentative schedule: Dec. 4-6, 2009
"I have spent years sampling different Yoga styles and attending various workshops, conventions and Teacher Training's, searching for the right one. I don't have to look any further, this (Jonny Kest training) is it. It was here I learned the true essence of Yoga. It is not the perfect pose but to be able to take Yoga off my mat and into my daily life. As I now begin to see myself remaining steady amidst the turbulence of life, equanimity is no longer just a word I didn't understand. It is hear I learned to "Live my Yoga." "When the student is ready, the teacher appears." ~ Kim Hubbarth, Previous workshop attendee
We are pleased to present Jonny Kest in Madison, Wisconsin at Inner Fire Yoga! As one of the most influential yoga teachers in the MidWest, Jonny has been teaching and living the way of yoga for decades. By the way of breath, he brings a beautiful balance of intensity and grace to each therapeutic class where he encourages the student to 'get out of their own way' and allow one's own healing power to inspire each practice.
This 20 hour Weekend Teacher Training is open to all levels, teachers and students.
There is a growing underground movement of living a healthier and happier life filled with gratitude. Learn to practice, live, and teach a unique style of flow yoga where breath and movement become a radical expression of what makes you feel most alive inside and out!
Come and discover a new edge both physically and mentally, as teacher and student, where you use music, song, sequencing, and storytelling to bring
meaning and transformation to your yoga classes and practice.
During this weekend training, you will develop the skills to: ~Teach the "Five Elements" essential to a successful vinyasa yoga class
~Guide breath and movement simply and intelligently
~Teach every yoga posture with greater meaning and purpose
~Give and receive direct feedback, discovering how others perceive you through your teaching
~Guide your students beyond their old limitations to step into the unknown with greater understanding, acceptance, and love.
