Audre Lorde - The Berlin Years 1984 to 1992 at Frameline Film Festival
This documentary film explores a little-known chapter of Audre Lorde's prolific life, a period in which she helped ignite the Afro-German Movement and made lasting contributions to the German political and cultural scene before and after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the German reunification. 2012 marks the 20th anniversary of Audre Lorde's passing.

The Other Side of Water & Ebony Goddess: Queen of Il� Aiy� Ebony Goddess:Queen of Il� Aiy� follows three women competing to be the carnival queen of Il� Aiy�, a prominent and controversial Afro-Brazilian group with an all-black membership.
The Other Side of the Water follows a group of young immigrants who take Haitian Rara Music and reinvent it on the streets of Brooklyn.

NYSCA Registration TWN invites NYS based filmmakers interested in applying to the New York State Council on the Arts to email workshop@twn.org by June 1st. A questionnaire has to be filled out before TWN can register you, and then you will have till June 20th to submit the full application. The guidelines for submission are on the NYSCA website site and include specifics on proof of residency, as well as how to upload your samples. The rapid growth of the Spanish speaking community in the United States has marked a new phase in U.S. culture particularly in the audio-visual area, and the demand for professionals who can write in Spanish is continuously increasing. FUNAVE was created in response to the lack of Spanish-language training options for screenwriters and youth within the United States and is the first laboratory for the learning, development and research of audiovisual narratives in Spanish within the United States. FUNAVE's first initiative is FUNAVERANO, a series of four intensive workshops featuring prominent screenwriters and media professionals, as well as guest speakers. All the workshops will be held in Spanish at the historic Amster Yard building of the Cervantes Institute in Manhattan.
