La Bruja: A Witch from the Bronx and Two Dollar Dance at Anthology Film Archives
On August 22nd, TWN presents two Latino documentaries at Anthology Film Archives. La Bruja: A Witch from the Bronx by Felix Rodriguez is an intimate look at the life of Puerto Rican performance artist, Caridad De La Luz. La Bruja will be preceded by Two Dollar Dance, a moving documentary about two Latino immigrants who find companionship in a dance club in Queens. A Q&A will follow the screening.

Known as the grand dame of lesbian experimental film, Barbara Hammer has created over 80 films and videos since the late 1960s, making her the most prolific and most important lesbian filmmaker in cinema history. TWN congratulates Barbara Hammer on this well deserved recognition.

Filmmaker Pam Sporn Receives BRIO Award
Pam Sporn is a Bronx-based documentary video maker. Since the late 1980s she has guided New York City teenagers in producing videos that reflect the unique perspective of urban youth. Her work includes Cuban Roots/Bronx Stories and Disobeying Orders: GI Resistance to The Vietnam War. TWN congratulates Pam Sporn on this well deserved recognition.
