Congrats to Dr. McColgan & the Wsol Family! "Fin" is here!
 Dr. Carrie McColgan and her husband, Mike Wsol, are the proud parents of their new baby boy, Fineus Charles Wsol. "Fin" was born on December 31st at 7:43 a.m .and was 7 lbs 20 inches long.
According to Dr. McColgan, now happily at home with her new baby, "We are all doing well...including Vivian (Fin's big sister born 9/09), who is adjusting to her new baby brother".
Dr. McColgan, a veterinarian at our Lilburn/Stone Mountain practice, thanks everyone for their well wishes and looks forward to returning from maternity leave at the end of March.

Good dental hygiene and healthy teeth and gums are a vital part of a pet's overall health. Periodontal infections have been linked to serious health problems, such as heart disease, kidney disease, diabetes, and other life threatening disor ders.
During your pet's annual visit throughout the year, their teeth and gums are thoroughly examined. At that time the vet may recommend a dental cleaning, possible digital x-rays, and in some cases extractions. If this occurs after our dental discount month has ended, you will be given a 20% off dental coupon with your invoice that can be used within the three months following the vet's recommendation.

Dr. Will's "Ask the Veterinarian" on WebMD
 On Thursday, January 19th at 1:00 PM, our very own Dr. Will Draper is featured on WebMD's web series, "Ask The Veterinarian". Hosted by Tommy Kane, this pet series is a part of the "Ask The Expert" series and features "Dr. Will" answering pet-related questions offered by viewers. Each 20-minute episode will be shown live on the site and will provide viewers an opportunity to pose questions to Dr. Will. The upcoming episode is entitled "Cat Training and Behavior". Run with the Dogs 5K in Decatur!
The 7th Annual Run With The Dogs 5K in Downtown Decatur is this Saturday, January 7th. This dog-friendly run/walk event begins at 9:00 am in front of the Decatur High School (across from The Village Vets Decatur on N, McDonough St.). Registration (with $30 fee) begins at 8:00 am. The event, of which The Village Vets is a proud sponsor, raises funds to support the student athletes of Decatur High and Renfroe Middle Schools. Please come out to support this great cause!

Dr. Will is one of the regular guests (and only veterinary healthcare expert) featured on WSB Radio's "Weekly Check Up" with Dr. Bruce Feinberg. He is on again Sunday, January 29th at 3:00PM. Throughout the two-hour program various pet related issues are discussed and Dr. Will takes calls from listeners.
