Meet Jenny - Another Rescue Story | |
All the many rescue pets that we have seen have provided a great deal of inspiration - keeping the hope, the vision and the continued hard work we direct towards rescue efforts alive and strong. Since there are so many, we could not possibly share them all; however, sometimes one just comes along that inspires the story to be told.
One such story is about a three-legged dog named Jenny. Jenny's story is not the typical "dog rescued from a shelter" or "found out in the cold". Jenny lost her home because he owner passed away.
She was brought to The Village Vets initially to be euthanized- not because she was sick, but because her temporary guardians believed she was going to be more than they could deal with. She was "old", "only has three legs" and a "mutt". As we have done in similar circumstances, we offered to take ownership and responsibility for her. For us, that means ensuring the pet's health and then finding them a suitable home.
Jenny indeed has made a family very happy. Chamblee Abernethy, who works at our Decatur practice and is very involved in the rescue cause, went about this in her special way and found a perfect family match for this old gal. This was our farewell shot of her - leaving The Village Vets and heading to her new home.
Way to go Jenny !!
