Located at 3404 Northside Pkwy (across from the popular OK Cafe), The Village Vets - Buckhead opens its doors April 2, 2011.  We are proud to be able to serve more  communities in northwest Atlanta - continuing to provide honest, excellent veterinary medicine and customer service.  This will also give us an opportunity to provide support to more rescue groups/pets, as we have done at our other two practices in the Decatur and Lilburn/Stone Mountain areas.

Dr. Amy Mathews (L) has been practicing in the Buckhead area for over 21 years, and brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our new practice.  Dr. Megan Stewart (R) recently graduated from Ross University, and has worked with Dr. Mathews as both a vet assistant, vet extern, and veterinarian over the last few years.  This practice will also be staffed with faces you already know from our Decatur practice.

Georgia Veterinary Medical Association is urgently reaching out to Georgia veterinary practices to inform pet owners of House Bills 385-388 addressing a proposed Pet Tax on veterinary services.  Currently, veterinary services are not taxed; medications and supplies are.  Should the proposed tax bill become written into law, pet owners could see veterinary bills increase by an overall 7% to 8% due to taxation.

Animal Action Rescue (AAR) and Dekalb Animal Services have teamed up to create "Paws For The Cause".   The event is designed to promote animal cruelty awareness, pet health and education, and pet adoptions.  This year's event kicks off in the Heart of Decatur, on April 9th at 10am - 2pm.  This is an event where pets, pet owners and animal lovers can interact and learn important facts about animal care.  The Village Vets will be on-site providing microchipping - all proceeds will be donated to AAR and Dekalb Animals Services and Cruelty Enforcement.
