Greetings!
It's a new year! We are very excited about 2011, which brings some positive changes. The biggest change- as of January 1, The Village Vets and Animal Emergency Center of Decatur have merged to form The Village Vets 24 Hour Hospital. Not only will this help us keep after hours costs down (for us and you), but will also allow us the opportunity to extend appointment hours during the week and Saturdays, but will now offer Sunday appointments! We will be introducing new veterinary team members and other exciting developments in the coming months.
We are getting ready for National Pet Dental Month in February, and will continue our discounted dental services that month through the end of April. This is a great time to get your pets' dental health in order! Please note the coupon at the bottom of this newsletter.
Read on...and again we thank you for being a part of The Village Vets family. We are here because of you, and proud to be able to make your veterinary practice even better.
 Will Draper, DVM Practice Director

Rosebud Has a Home!
This tired and neglected gal was brought to The Village Vets in
 | | Free At Last !! |
August, coming directly from Dekalb Animal Control. She was first discovered by a good Samaritan, tethered to a tree in a yard - where she probably had been living her entire life. The individual contacted the Dekalb County Animal Cruelty Task Force for Abused and Neglected Animals. At that point, "Rosebud" was lawfully removed from the home.
Rosebud (her original name was never revealed) lived at The Village Vets for several months. While at TVV she was spayed and received heartworm treatments. Along with gaining her strength and health back - she also began to trust people and felt loved for the first time in her life.
Rosebud garnered a lot of support from the community through the hard work of rescue volunteers of Southern Animal Rescue (SAR) They raised more than $1200 that helped not only pay for all Rosebud's medical expenses but also helped several other rescued pets brought to The Village Vets through SAR.
| | In My New Home !! |
Rosebud was eventually transferred to a bulldog rescue organization out of state through Friends of Dekalb Animals (FODA). Not long after arriving there, she was adopted by a wonderful, loving family. "It takes a village" to orchestrate the effort from the point of rescue to finding these pets new homes. It is a wonderful thing! However, everyone's hard work must continue. Please join in the effort to save these animals' lives by donating as little or as much as you can - when you can.

Please Pardon Our Mess...
Beginning Saturday, January 15th, our Decatur hospital will be undergoing repairs to the our main lobby floors. Our main lobby will not be available for 2 weeks afterwards. During this period we are asking our clients to enter and exit the building through our ER lobby on the side of the building (directions will be provided). Please bear with us, as we know it may be cramped at times, but we are making strategic plans on how to avoid additional waiting time, as well as any inconvenience and frustration to you. We will also be seeing clients daily in our Wellness Center on the 2nd floor - this will help eliminate some of the traffic in the ER lobby.
Your patience during this time will be most appreciated...thank you! |
