Greetings!
There are some exciting things happening at The Village Vets, and we want to let you know about them. It is our pleasure and responsibility to provide the best for you and your pets, and we appreciate the continued opportunity. Please read on, and don't hesitate to let us know how we are doing. Sincerely, |
New Weekday Hours! Now Open 1/2 Hour Earlier and 1 Hour Later!
 Based
on client input, and after much discussion and consideration with our
team, The Village Vets (TVV) has decided that extending our weekday hours is the right
move for us at this time. As we grow, we must make changes to
effectively deal with the growth. Therefore,
effective Monday, August 2, 2010, our weekday hours at both offices
will be 7 am to 7 pm.
In addition, our
Decatur office will remain open until 9 pm on Mondays for later routine
appointments, as well as pet and supply pick-ups. TVV Decatur will
also have an early 6:30 am drop-off day on Wednesdays.
We intend to use the extended hours in Decatur for wellness/routine
vaccine exams and minor sick visits. Major (and some minor) emergencies will continue to
be directed to our sister emergency practice, Animal Emergency Center of Decatur (located in the same building).
TVV Lilburn-Stone Mountain will extend weekday hours for early drop-offs, pick-ups, and purchases only, at this time. Doctors' hours will
remain from 9 am to 6 pm. TVV
Lilburn-Stone Mountain will continue our 12-4 pm hours on Sundays, where doctor
exam visits and product purchases are available for ALL TVV clients.
Remember, your pets' records are accessible at both practices (conveniently about a 20-minute drive apart...on most days).
We are excited about the changes...especially for you. Please know that we are doing this for our clients, and to make our practice the best it can be. It is our intention to work smarter, not harder. We are determined to make this adjustment as seamless as possible.
Shifts will be staggered to avoid longer individual hours, and
consideration given for taking later shifts. For example, Dr. Matt Miller,
who graciously suggested and offered to work the 9 pm vet shift on
Monday evenings, will be able to adjust his hours elsewhere and spend
more quality time at home with his wife and two young children. Dr. Melissa Finke,
who will work an hour later on Tuesdays, will now get another Saturday
off each month. Earlier and later shifts will help
husband/father/friend/Navy veteran/student/technician Robert McAdams work around his family and school schedule more efficiently. Working an hour later will allow Dr. Janine Franco an opportunity to leave earlier on Fridays to observe Shabbat with her family. The
stories are similar with many of our team members, and we will work to
assure that this change helps to improve the quality of life for all
involved - people and pets alike.
It is important to our team
that, regardless of this change, we continue to provide you with the
service and care that have become our standard. We want to hear your feedback - both good and bad - to know how we are
doing.
We look forward to
continuing the honor of serving your pets and you with honest,
excellent veterinary medicine and service for years to come. You have
earned it, and you deserve it. We are proud to be here for you!

Wellness Center Opens! An Additional Lobby w/ Two More Exam Rooms.
We are pleased to announce the new Wellness
Center
opening this coming week at our Decatur practice. Adding two
additional exam rooms, the
Wellness Center is designed to accommodate
routine wellness exams, as well as minor medical
issues such as ear or eye concerns. The Wellness
Center's location on
the 2nd floor will be quieter and therefore
less stressful for our senior, feline, and
smaller canine patients.

Lower Blood Work/Lab Prices TVV Joins ANTECH, 25-40% Lower Prices
In July, TVV and AECD joined outside lab company ANTECH Diagnostics. Founded in 1987, ANTECH is the largest veterinary laboratory dedicated to providing the finest in laboratory medicine. This is a rare opportunity for us to provide better service (more lab sample pick-ups, faster response times) while significantly lowering costs for both TVV and you. We are excited to be able to reduce most fees 25-40% - and in some cases even more. Some examples:
Canine & Feline Adult Screens: Prev. $143, now $89 Canine Senior Screen: Prev. $186, now $139.50 Feline Senior Screen: Prev. $157, now $110
This change will allow more clients the ability to perform recommended annual Wellness Profiles, and make blood work with additional diagnostics more affordable in times of pet illness.

IT IS HOT OUTSIDE!
|
This is the time of year we see lots of heat-related illnesses. Be sure to protect your pets by keeping them indoors or providing cool, shaded areas for them to retreat to. Also make sure they have access to PLENTY of clean, cold water to help keep them cool and hydrated!
In addition, DO NOT LEAVE PETS IN THE CAR UNATTENDED! Cars are like ovens in this heat...even with windows down. That's not good for our furry friends.
