Greetings!
Happy New Year from CTA!  We are very excited about the start of 2011 and the opportunities it will bring.  For example, this month we will begin our first ever Australian NMT Case-based Training Series.  While we have run these Series for many years now, in 2011 we will host our first Series specifically designed and scheduled for Australian participants.  In response to the increasing interest in our work from Australia, aided by Annette Jackson and Take Two, we will run this new Series at a convenient time and staff only Australian cases.  There's still time to register for this series which begins January 14th.  See below for more information if you are interested. Also, we are pleased to update you on the progress of our new Metric Tool and on our first NMT Partner Site to complete the full three-year Training Certification Program in our Neurosequential Model of Therapuetics.  Congratulations to Sandhill Child Development Center who will participate in the final staffing of their program next month!  2011 has much in store.  As always, stay in touch through our Newsletter and Facebook announcements on our most recent developments.

UPDATE ON CTA's NEW WEB-BASED METRIC TOOL

CTA is excited to see the beta-testing phase of our online metric tool near completion in the next 1-2 months.  We appreciate all of the feedback we have received from our NMT Partner Sites and Individual Certification Participants as they have used the beta-version in training sessions.  Their input has helped us improve the tool's navigation and functioning, and we plan to unveil the first public version early this spring.

The NMT Web-based Metric helps in a structured assessment of developmental history of adverse experiences, relational health and current brain-mediated functioning.  The graphic representations allow a clinician, teacher, or parent to quickly visualize important aspects of a child's history and current status.  The information is key in designing developmentally appropriate educational, enrichment and therapeutic experiences to help the child.  Below is an example of a functional brain "map" produced by our metric tool.  The top image (with the red squares) corresponds to a client (each box corresponds to brain functions mediated by a region/system in the brain; the color code is like a standard "stop light" - with red indicating significant problems).  The bottom map is a comparative map for a "typical" same-aged child. Stay tuned for more information on the public launch of the metric tool soon.

SANDHILL TO BE FIRST NMT PARTNER SITE TO COMPLETE THREE-YEAR NMT CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
CTA would like to recognize Sandhill Child Development Center in Las Lunes, New Mexico: In February, they will complete their final staffing and become the first NMT Partner Site to complete the full NMT training certification. The clinical, educational and administrative staff at Sandhill create a relationally-enriched, developmentally-informed setting for a range of positive healing experiences. The children and families served by Sandhill benefit from their hard work and sensitive approach. Through the leadership of CEO/President Linda Zimmerman, Sandhill has integrated NMT into their existing treatment approach; we have very much enjoyed this mutual learning experience.  We are pleased to have this opportunity and look forward to ongoing work with them in the future.  After finishing the full NMT training certification process, Sandhill will continue to work with the CTA as an NMT Center of Excellence and provide ongoing training and consultation activities for their community.
