About YWTF

Protecting Washington DC's Younger Women

Through it's project Stand Up For DC Women!  YWTF is working to ensure that victims of sexual assault and intimate partner violence know their rights and receive the adequate care they deserve and that is guaranteed to them under federal legislation.  Starting in January 2009, YWTF will distribute thousands of bilingual wallet sized cards with information about the legislation and what to do if your rights are denied.

What our members say about YWTF:
"When I moved to DC after college, I felt a loss of community. YWTF has not only allowed me to connect with the DC community, but it has helped strengthen my leadership skills. I stay involved in YWTF because there is no greater feeling than being surrounded by a group of committed women working together to make a difference."

Greetings!

Four years ago, when we started the Younger Women's Task Force (YWTF), we created the first-ever network dedicated entirely to organizing women in their 20s and 30s.  YWTF has since grown to more than 7,000 members in 30 states.  Through its eight chapters, YWTF is working tirelessly to advance the rights of younger women, empowering them to create change in their own communities.

YWTF would not exist without the help of indviduals like you. Give the gift of younger women's leadership this season by donating $10 or more now.

Today, thousands of women across the country are working together through YWTF to create better lives for themselves and the individuals in their communities.  We are proud of the organization we've created and all that we have accomplished over the last four years.  But there is still so much progress to make.

Our country is facing some its greatest challenges in history and we know that many of our members - specifically middle and lower income younger women - are among those who have suffered the most and will continue to suffer in the months to come.

Through The YWTF Financial Literacy Project, YWTF Chapters across the country will spend much of the next year addressing financial literacy and economic justice issues as they pertain to younger women. Times are tough, and with women earning on average 77% of what men earn and millions of younger women currently lacking health insurance and losing their jobs, our members need YWTF more than ever.  In direct response to the current economic crisis, YWTF chapters will design programming that  ensures that the younger women in our communities are equipped with the knowledge, tools, and resources they need to get out of debt, negotiate for higher pay, pay for their education, buy their first home, save, and invest.

YWTF needs your help now more then ever. Your tax deductible donation will enable us to continue our much needed programming, and allow us to grow so we can reach thousands of more women. Click here to give online today or send a check to:

Thank you for giving the gift of younger women's leadership this holiday season. Your generous contribution will help develop the next generation of women leaders across our country!

You can give a gift to YWTF in honor of a woman who has made a difference in your life or the lives of others!  YWTF will send your special person an e-card informing them that you have made a donation in their name. Just be sure to write her name and email address under "Designation" when you donate online.

Warmest wishes to you and your family,

The Leaders of the Younger Women's Task Force.

P.S. - Please know that any amount you can give will truly make a difference!  In these tough economic times, we are relying more than ever on generous individuals like you.
