 Education Secretary Celebrates Citizen Schools
On May 19th, twenty-nine Citizen Schools Teaching Fellows recieved their Master's in Education from Lesley University. During his commencement address, U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan celebrated Citizen Schools, saying, "That work is close to my heart." He referenced our Lesley partnership to develop the first master's degree program in out-of-school time as one of the top innovations in the school's 100-year history. |

 Citizen Schools Receives Increased AmeriCorps Grant
With support from the AmeriCorps national service program, Citizen Schools will expand our Teaching Fellowship program by 80% in 2010-2011, engaging 235 aspiring educators in full-time service. AmeriCorps recently awarded $3 million to Citizen Schools, a substantial increase over prior years. Read more>> |
