Wednesday, March 2, at 4:30 p.m.: We need you and your neighbors to attend this RECO meeting and let the City of Hayward know that requiring energy efficiency upgrades is a bad idea! Meeting is held at City Hall, 777 B Street, 2nd floor. A few triggers of the proposed ordinance:
  • Point-of-Sale Trigger - Either the seller or the buyer would need to complete energy retrofits either at the time of sale or within two years of of the property being transferred.
  • Remodel Trigger - All homeowners planning a remodeling project costing $30,000 or more would be subject to the RECO requirements.
  • Date Certain Trigger - All homes in Hayward built prior to 1978 would have to comply with the RECO requirements by a certain date.

Dear Hayward neighbors and friends,

Since stepping away from my position as City Council Member last July, I've refocused on my business. Recently, I've written several blog-posts about my experience living in different neighborhoods in Hayward, including the Palma Ceia and Southgate neighborhoods. Soon I'll write about when I lived in Eden Gardens and about my move to Prospect Hill.

Although you don't hear from me as often as before, I do appreciate your encouragement to stay in touch!

Warm regards,

Anna May
