| Utility User Tax in Hayward to be Considered Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009 at 8 p.m., Hayward City Hall
(The public is invited to attend city council meetings with an opportunity to speak for up to 3 minutes.)
A decision will be made on March 3rd to put a revenue measure on the May 19th ballot for voter consideration. This proposed "Utility Users Tax" has so far been drafted to be 5.5% of electricity, gas, video and telecommunications services for 10 years.
If approved by the voters, this tax will apply to all users of utilities in the city of Hayward including homeowners, renters, hospitals, businesses, schools, non-profits, etc.
