It's winter in the northern hemisphere and everything here is sparking with divine moisture - frozen, liquid and misty. Through the glistening light, we are reminded of the glistening spirit of humanity, showing itself in the caring and sharing we do. Our personal lights help shine upon the birth of a new creation, just as we are ready to put an old one to rest. And light grows brighter through the love we beam to strangers as we take the time to reflect on their holiness. In this Return-of-the-Light season, I offer these words for your contemplation and water blessing practice . . .

The Chakras
& Water
Do they mix?
Not only do they mix, but they share the same same form. Energy vortices at chakra points look identical to the water vortices formed when water goes "down the drain." Paying attention to how Nature uses spirals, it is clear that using water to work with the chakras is not only compatible, but effective.
For the past year, I have been exploring the relationship between water and the astral energy centers known as the chakras. In Sanskrit, the word means, "wheel" and describes the spinning pattern of energy that is located in specific places in our bodies. Chakra energy affects body, mind and spirit. Water vortices are exactly like these spinning energy centers except that water moves downward while the chakras spin energy horizontally from the front of the body to the back.
After numerous attempts to print water blessing labels holding the intricate designs of the chakras (as my visionary mind interpreted them) I have opted to affiliate with Cafe Press, and use my artwork on ceramic tiles that can be used as coasters to charge the water in the same way a blessing label does when applied to the container. The multi-dimensional visionary art changes the molecular structure of water just like words or sounds, and makes the water like a healing, energizing elixir to enhance, expand and energize the chakras. Time is Like Water
As it flows through our lives
Time is a river of moments flowing in and around our lives. What we do with those moments defines the quality of our journey.
Another year comes to a close and a clean slate peeks at us from the fresh year just ahead. It's nearly Winter Solstice, and the air is frosty, the snow is thick in many places, and rains and fogs envelop us with the reminder of the frigid season. Water is everywhere in the north, but so is time. 'Tis the season to go inside and experience life with our most focused attention.
Impossible, we exclaim?
Who has time for meditation or life reflections? We frantically
try to get things done under deadlines, stress and fatigue. It couldn't be more impossible, and yet, right now in the middle of all the hustle and bustle is the right
time to see the clock in a new way. Most of us have measured our lives
by how much we can pack into the hours we see on the clock (or the days
on a calendar), but there is another way to measure time by the gifts
we receive within the extended moments between "ticks."
In a place where only seasons define time for the natural world, life evolves without schedules or regrets. There, in the midst of a guilt-free zone with no cars or phone lines visible, away from cellphones coverage and internet, I stood by a rushing creek and just listened. I was hoping to gain inspiration for a new music composition from the sound of the water. What I heard was a steady rhythm as the water beat against the rocks. Nothing caused the beat to be regular, and yet it was. Perhaps it was the ticking of my heart as I breathed in all the water aerosol. Yes, I do believe, it was my heartbeat. I was as a place where love was blossoming. I became mesmerized and felt myself becoming full with the sound, suspending all awareness of time. So why does water, music and rhythm bring such gifts, while the passing of time on a clock causes such angst? Water helped me to understand.
Each body of flowing water creates a natural rhythm that GIVES energy to all life forms instead of taking it away - pure fluid divinity! But the passing of time and the rhythm of a clock reminds us that we are LOSING time, wasting time, running out of time, crunched for time, killing time. . . but rarely, if ever, do we actually believe we gain something from the passing of time - except in those moments, like at the creek, where the thoughts of time are erased and time only exists as bookends to endless moments when I am deeply serving my soul. Couldn't this happen more often?
The dreaded, "out of time," exclamation is a powerful metaphor for death. Subconsciously, it is the fear of death that controls our lives when we chase the clock. In reality, however, time is our ally, teacher, healer and muse - IF we are open to those gifts and see beyond our conditioned, limited minds. What it boils down to is that we need to come to a halt, if only for a moment, and to let ourselved be swept away to another dimension for just a little while. As we languish in that life-giving state, our cells are being re-aligned, our mind is being filtered, and our spirit is being healed. It doesn't take long to make all this happen. Now, more than any other time of the year, we need the river of precious moments to flow through us and put us back on track so we can finish out the holidays with vigor and joy.
Winter Solstice marks a significant passing of time during a period of short cold days and long freezing nights. This is the season and the reason to slow down and wait for the gifts of time to appear rather than chasing the clock. If we are in a panic about never having enough time, we get more of the same - never enough time. If, however, we see time like an endless river of energy flowing to the beat of our hearts, we ultimately make choices that honor our enrichment. In those moments, the counting stops and life rushes in to fill us with the miraculous gifts of the season.
Can you find time to stand by a creek or ocean? Is it possible to share music or art with others? Stand up and dance. Offer your help to someone in need.Take a long ride on a lonely road and get lost finding a new beautiful place. Watch the rain, the snow, the ice. Play in it. Shiver with it. Be in the season fully. In doing so, you will find that time has stopped while you are deeply touched by aspects of life you often overlook. In fact, you likely will find yourself LOST IN LOVE.... LOST IN TIME! Time, the Greatest Giver, allows you to have those uncounted moments so you can rebuild your spirit and become more balanced and alive. These experiences make a life worth living, not all the things we try to fit into the hours on a clock. Who will remember that we baked 20 dozen cookies or made it to four Christmas parties? Who will remember the day your played in the snow with those we love and sang together as we warmed up with hot cider in front of the fireplace? It's all about making choices. Don't go for the obvious one, the one that screams at you from the clock on the wall. Close your ears and make another choice.
What about the holidays?
The holy birth, celebrated in this season, is the birth of Spirit which has to do with accepting the darkness, the holiness of the night and cold (our shadow nature), and the holiness of each other as aspects of Christ Consciousness, as we sing and feast and gift each other with light. The season is not about making ourselves crazy with commitments. And, in fact, the clock will provide you with all the time you need, if your deepest desire is to experience the sublime moments of life. But if you try to push and manipulate to fit the clock, you wil miss what gifts were left for you by the Cosmic Time Santa. Try relaxing this season. Breathe. You possess a sacred connection to Christ Consciousness, Great Spirit, the Universe, and to the Christ in all others. It's a Divine connection . . . and you have all the time in the world to explore it, give thanks for it, and share it with others. That's Divine Time, and it has no beginning and no end. Just like water. But you have to choose it.
Water makes good choices in finding the easiest way to the sea. If it has to move a mountain, it will. But if there is a valley, it finds that way instead. There is great wisdom in watching the flow. When we make choices, we can fill our energy field with personal likes and preferences and honor them FIRST before we mindlessly put our energy into something that requires us to move mountains. We can chose to flow in the watercourse way. Easy.
When we consciously choose the way we want to spend our time, we create ETHER, one of the sacred elements of life. Ether is water that has been vaporized, heated into steam. Steam is a highly energized form of water and creativity. When our choices become energized, great potential opens up. By making a choice, we create spiritual steam and the ticking clock stops taking away from us. Now it is giving back. Oh holy steam! Finally timelessness is achieved and you still have time for all the things you need to accomplish; but you'll do it with a renewed spirit and a higher purpose than chasing the ticking time-bomb.
This Solstice/holiday season, I wish you the ability to make another choice and stop time in its tracks. I wish you the wisdom of water, in all it's holiness. And I wish you a sacred passing of TIME with all the phenomenal gifts you will experience as a result.

Serious winter has arrived in the northern hemisphere, and blissful summer for the south. Our seasons are like an engine that keeps the earth moving. Hot to cold, cold to hot. All the while, the cycles of life in all their glory teach us how to be better human beings, and show us that life exists on billions of levels and shares with all others.
