Why Eat Teff?
| |
Teff is high in resistant starch, a newly-discovered type of dietary fiber that can benefit blood-sugar management, weight control, and colon health. It's estimated that 20-40% of the carbohydrates in teff are resistant starches. A gluten-free grain with a mild flavor, teff is a healthy and versatile ingredient for many gluten-free products.

"Everyone has a talent. What is rare is the courage to nurture it in solitude and to follow the talent to the dark places where it leads"
- Erica Jong

Greetings!
Now that we are well on our way into 2012, the changes seem a bit more subtle than most of us had anticipated, yet the energy in the air is undeniable. All emotions seem to be amplified. The days are short and there is not enough time to get everything accomplished.
Here's a Tip: If you are not happy with your life and your work, now is the time to create a new vision, not a time to be wasted on day dreams. What is your calling? What do you love? It is time to let go of our fears and create the life we have been reaching for. It is possible to walk out of an old suit and into a new one.

Featured Class: Hanna 2
Emotional Causes of Ill Health
April 27 - May 1
This is a brand new class for 2012 in which we will examine how to identify and release the negative emotions related to chronic disease. We will present work on emotional issues from the pioneers such as Louise Hay, Carolyn Myss, Dr. Bruce Lipton, Dr. Hamer, and Hanna Kroeger. We will discuss many modalities such as EFT, NLP, Timeline Therapy, Raymon Grace's Emotional release technique, EMDR, flower essences, essential oils, affirmations, herbs, and homeopathics in this course. Case studies will be discussed, utilizing the AccessHanna™ software program.
This class will help students:
- identify and work through patterns that are held in the body for different reasons.

Regrets of the Dying
For many years Bonnie Ware worked in palliative care. She was with them for the last three to twelve weeks of their lives and gained tremendous insight on what people were thinking about in their last days. Here they are:
1. I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself,
not the life others expected of me.
2. I wish I didn't work so hard.
3. I wish I'd had the courage to
express my feelings.
4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.
5. I wish that I had let myself be
happier

Lavender foot bath for Insomnia
Do you have trouble sleeping? Are you so wound up from the day that your body is tense and unable to settle? Try a lavender foot bath!
Herbal foot baths are a great way to infuse plant medicine in the body. The pores on the soles of the feet are larger than any other part of the body, making them more sensitive to absorption.
Lavender is only one of many plant allies for this relaxing self treatment. Other plants to try are: Skullcap, Lemon Balm, Catnip, Chamomile and others.
Many nervines have bitter properties, thus strong infusions are not so pleasant tasting. An herbal foot bath is the perfect way to take herbs while by passing the digestive tract and taste buds. Here's how:
The day before:
- Boil a large pot of water.
- Remove from heat and add two handfuls of lavender flowers.
- Cover and allow to steep over night.
The evening of:
- Heat large pot of lavender infusion (try not to boil)
- Add 1 cup of epsom salts to a 5 gallon paint bucket
- Strain lavender infusion directly into pot and stir to dissolve salts
- Test temperature of water and adjust heat to desired temperature
- Sit in a relaxed location and soak away!
Ultra Relaxing tips:
- Dim lights and use candles to set the mood
- Have a towel ready to wipe wet feet
- Gently massage sesame oil into feet after soak
- Get directly in bed after your soak
ENJOY!!!
