Greetings!
It's been a very busy month at Pink Therapy with Training being in the air in a major way.

Dominic has been planning the programme for next year (see article below) and he and Catherine Butler have run a workshop on Working with People having High Risk Sex and the use of Motivational Interviewing.

Dominic will also be running a workshop at the UKCP Supervision Conference this Saturday on Supervising Sexual Minority Therapy.

Comings & Goings:
We are sorry to lose Cordelia Galgut who has left the Clinical Associate team due to pressures of work elsewhere.  Cordelia will remain in the Directory and available to see clients.  We are recruiting a few new Associates and pleased to announce the first of these is Dr Christopher Whiteley. Christopher is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist in the NHS specialising in Addictions.  He's a CBT and Systemically trained therapist and in his private practice works with a broad range of issues.

Dominic has also retrained in Thought Field Therapy™ (Callaghan Techniques) and is busy showing everyone he meets about how amazingly effective it is for a wide range of psychological difficulties!
New Training Programme online
2_pints
We are delighted to announce that our new training programme is now online.  There are a number of new topics being offered as well as repeating previously popular workshops.  In particular we want to draw your attention to the Essentials in Sexual Minority Therapy course - which is now going to be a 5 day course (one weekend and then three Saturdays).  We've decided to allow more time for the material on gender and sexuality and models of sexual minority therapy as day 1 was a bit too packed.  This weekend module could be taken on it's own, although priority will be given to people booking for all five days.

We're also very excited to be offering an Introduction to Running Therapeutic Groups which will be run by Charles Neal and Tim Foskett.  Both men have extensive experience in this area and this will be a valuable training for therapists considering setting up ongoing therapy groups as well as those considering running therapeutic workshops.  A follow-up workshop is being planned for those who've attended this one.

We will also be launching our one-year Certificate in Sexual Minority Therapy in October.   Applications are invited from qualified counsellors, psychotherapists and clinical or counselling psychologists who wish to develop their knowledge and skills in working with a wide range on gender and sexual minority clients.  Places on this first cohort will be strictly limited and applications must be in by the end of June.  Selection interviews will be held in July.

We will also be running on several dates (both Fridays and Saturdays), our small group workshops for Supervisors on Supervising Sexual Minority Therapy.   These workshops/seminars proved very popular last year particularly with heterosexual supervisors wanting to understand some of the differences in supervising clinical work with gender and sexual minority clients.

A handy A5 flyer with a summary of ALL our events is available for download here.
Thining it Over - Mentoring Groups
Charles NealCharles Neal and Dominic Davies (co-editors of the Pink Therapy series of textbooks) will each be running an ongoing CPD/mentoring group meeting bi monthly for five or six meetings participants will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of sexual minority therapy issues and to look at their own practice and work.

These groups will take place in Central London. Click here to download a flyer with more info (pdf)

They are aimed at practitioners of all sexual/gender identities and levels of experience who want to have a small group experience to explore their clinical work with sexual minority clients.
