PT Presents
No, I'm not proposing to put myself forward as Tony Blair's replacement, but I do want to flag up for you the wide range of training opportunities which are currently available for you. The second of our four- day Essentials Courses started last weekend with 19 people.

We've updated the TRAINING section of the Pink Therapy website (see link below) with more details of various new workshops we are running in the new year. We are also hoping to launch our new 2 year Post Qualification in Clinical Studies in Sexual Minority Therapy for those who are specialising in this area of work.

If you've every wondered how the 'self' develops in a gender or sexual minority person, then Judy Yellin has some thoughts to share in a brand new workshop: The Development of the Self and the Function of the Therapeutic Alliance on January 20th, 2007

How comfortable and knowledgeable are you about the sexual problems experienced by gender and sexual minority clients? Do you know how to work with a gay man with delayed ejaculation or with a lesbian couple experiencing 'bed death'? Are you familiar with the wide range of sexual practices enjoyed by sexual minorities? This popular weekend workshop run by Naomi Adams and Dominic Davies will help improve your confidence and knowledge! An Introduction to Psychosexual Therapy Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 Feb 2007

Naz Project
The Naz Project are offering a series of Saturday workshops in Soho which seek to: educate, empower and increase Black and Minority Ethnic volunteers. The next workshop, on 21st October is entitled Find me Somebody to Love; the following workshop on 18th November is called Those Darn Queer Blues. You get the picture, tell your (BME) clients!

The workshops are being facilitated by Kam Dhillon a practicing psychologist and psychotherapist, they are free and include lunch and refreshments!
A couple of issues ago we ran an article about a new group that has started up to promote networking amongst therapists working with sexual and gender minority clients.

Over the summer, the group has held a couple of informal lunch meetings - simple opportunities to meet with other therapists over tasty food. These meeting may result in referrals, peer supervision or some other collaborations.

The next lunch is being organised by Paul Kellet on either the 13 or 27 October at a Chinese restaurant in Clapham. If you are interested, please email him directly: psychotherapist@ntlworld.com

Thanks for your interest, and we hope to see some of you at the BACP conference on 6th October, where we have programmed the Sexual Minority Therapy Strand.

With all good wishes,

Dominic Davies
