Greetings!

Welcome back if you've just returned from your Summer break. Dominic is about to head off on his break, and so the Pink Therapy office will be closed between 6-15 September.

We wanted to get this email out to you though before we disappear, as we have a range of interesting items for you this month.

 Essentials in Sexual Minority Therapy
FULL - for the second time!

Our recently established four-day training course in the Essentials in Sexual Minority Therapy has again filled up, with minimal publicity and promotion.

We are continuing to invite enquiries about our 2 year Post Qualification in Clinical Studies in Sexual Minority Therapy - a two year programme which we hope to begin in the new year.

Our 2 year course is comprised of 18 day workshops, a mixture of CORE and ELECTIVE modules. each workshop is open to anyone just wanting to take that subject as a one off and details about this next year's programme of workshops is online in the TRAINING section of our website

 BACP Conference 6 October
 Sexual Minority Therapy strand

Pink Therapy has programmed the Sexual Minority Therapy strand on the first day of this year's BACP conference, which is being held at the Islington Business Design Centre.

There will be four sessions in our strand. A seminar by Dominic Davies exploring training courses responsibility to incorporate sexual minority therapy into the curriculum; a keynote lecture on the findings of the systematic review into what is the evidence on mental health and wellbeing of LGBT people and how to improve it, presented by Dr Killaspy and Jo Semlyen from the Royal Free Hospital (commissioned by BACP); a workshop into Working with the Erotic Transference for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) identified therapists with Keith Silvester and Deirdre Haslam and finally a seminar exploring therapist self-disclosure with particular reference to sexuality by Damian McCann and Dr Cordelia Galgut

The conference is open to non members of BACP and you can just attend for this one day rather than both days. The day rate is £95 per day for BACP members and £150 per day for non members.

We really hope that these sessions will be well supported as this is the first time BACP has offered training like this before and it would send a powerful message to the organisation if the sessions were well attended.
