Greetings!

Exciting news this month! We are now inviting applications from qualified therapists wishing to specialise in working with sexual minority therapy clients for our new 2 year course.

Reach
As far as we're aware, this is the first course of it's kind in the world. A two-year training programme aimed at qualified therapists who want to specialise in working with sexual and gender minority clients. The course is open to therapists of all sexual and theoretical orientations and will be of immense benefit to both experienced therapists who have learned by doing, but who now want to extend their theoretical knowledge and have the opportunity to work on themeselves in depth with other therapists doing this work. These therapists may be working as clinical and counselling psychologists in the NHS, or as Counsellors and Psychotherapists in the Voluntary Sector or in Private Practice.

The course will also be useful for newly qualified therapists wishing to begin working with sexual and gender minority clients.

Any taught part of the course can also be taken independently as valuable CPD for therapists wishing to update their knowledge and skills just on that specific topic.

The course has been designed to allow people to attend who live outside London, with monthly modules of Friday afternoon training supervision and then training workshops on Saturday.

Our popular Four Day certificated couses in the Essentials of Sexual Minority Therapy is filling up well. The course will start in Sept and is for a day a month for the next four months. People can sign up just for individual days, but those attending all four days will find it more cost effective and get a Certificate at the end.

If you find you can't make the whole course, book for the days you can manage and then top up the others later in the year.

Due to expansion of workload, PINK THERAPY is now looking to recruit some part-time administrative help. Ideally the person needs to be familiar with book keeping, course administration, marketing and promotion, and can help maintain the website (Dreamweaver).

Much of the work can be done from your own home with occasional visits to the office in Harley St. Approx 5-10 hours per week on a freelance basis. Contact Dominic Davies for more information: email: [email protected]

Cancer Care Trust
The Cancer Counselling Trust is expanding fast and because of an increase in funding and developments in our counselling services we are looking to recruit London based counsellors on a freelance basis who specialise in cancer.

We are also looking for an executive assistant to support the Director and a fundraiser to further our developments. If you are interested please send your CV to Jonathan Lake at [email protected]

Pace Family Support Service has recently recruited an email and phone helpline support worker. This service is for those who cannot, or wish not, to come to PACE for 1:1 work. People can contact the service at [email protected]. For the future, we are also looking at the possibility of the service being available instantly via msn. Should people want to talk, they can call the main PACE number (0207 700 1323) and ask for the helpline. If the worker is not here, they will call the caller back when they are next in.

Next is a new group, commencing on October 2nd, for parents of lgbt children. It will follow the pattern of previous family service groups as in it is a therapeutic support group, closed after session 3-4, running for 10 weeks with 2 breaks.
Gay Mens Sex survey
Each year THT funds the annual Gay Men's Sex Survey - the survey helps to inform sexual health and HIV prevention projects for gay and bisexual men through out the UK and, as importantly, helps to provide a robust evidence base for future funding of gay health projects. The survey takes less than 10 minutes to complete and is totally confidential. The more men we recruit to the survey, the better the information we get. We also strive to get as many diverse men as possible. The only criteria is that you currently live in the UK. It would be great if you would be willing to click on the link below and complete the survey.

It would be better still if, after completing the survey, you forward the URL to as many gay or bisexual men in the UK you know.
