  • FREE Self Esteem Workbook for Gay and Bisexual Men!
    Shenton Cartoon

PACE have launched a free workbook full of useful exercises aimed at gay and bisexual men to help them improve their self-esteem and build better relationships.

Written by Tim Foskett, the book contains information and exercises developed during ten years of running workshops with over 3000 gay and bisexual men.

The book is an excellent resource for therapists who may like to get a stock of them and give them out to their clients.

Contact Tim Foskett at PACE to order your copies: Email: info@pace.dircon.co.uk or call 020 7700 1323

    LGBT Human Rights at UN

Last year more than 45,000 people signed ILGA's petition in support of the "Brazilian" resolution, the first resolution introduced in the UN that would ban discrimination based on sexual orientation. Brazil, the country who first presented the resolution, decided, after strong resistance to the motion in 2003 and 2004, to postpone discussion on the text until this year's session of the UNCHR. It is our hope that the Brazilian government does indeed reintroduce its resolution, even though the latest news coming from Brasilia is that this will not happen.

Last Spring in 2004, the UN was witness to the largest ever delegation of gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgender people in its history at its Geneva headquarters in Switzerland. This year, ILGA will once again work with a large coalition of international organisations to bring together a large group of activists from all over the world to lobby the UNCHR for equal rights for LGBT people.

Please visit the updated version of the website in support of the "Brazilian Resolution" at: http://www.brazilianresolution.com and sign the petition to support it; and don't forget to encourage your friends to sign it too!

We Are Family: addressing the therapeutic needs of gays, lesbians and bisexuals in family relationships

This workshop will offer participants an opportunity to explore current developments in the thinking and practice of therapy with gays, lesbians and bisexuals in the context of families.

The workshop will cover aspects relating to 'coming out' in families and stages in family development. Drawing on research relating to families of origin, participants will be offered an opportunity to explore the impact of family relationships on the individual, couple and family development of gays, lesbians and bisexuals.

Particular consideration will be given to the question of motiviation for parenthood and parenting arrangements within gay and lesbian relationships. Current research relating to the development of children within lesbian and gay families will also be considered.

Workshop Facilitator: Damian McCann Saturday 11th June 2005 1.30pm - 7.30pm - Central London venue
