Buying a Franchise, Is It For You?
Thursday, December 9, 2010, 9:00 am -10:30 am
Metro South Chamber, 60 School Street, Brockton

Business franchising offers many opportunities; this form of ownership has helped many entrepreneurs get started in business and succeed. A well-known brand name, a clear business model to follow and mentors on hand to give advice may be that franchising is an ideal solution for you.

Learn from our franchising industry expert Mr. John Rogozenski, a Business Counselor from SCORE who has helped hundreds of individuals in evaluating the franchise industry. He has been associated with the franchise industry for more than 35 years and has worked for national retail concepts including Dunkin Donuts and Baskin- Robbins. He was personally responsible for developing over 300 new facilities and was a senior development executive for many years.

The content is designed to provide you with what you need to know about deciding if franchising is the right vehicle for you, selecting a brand, financing and the due diligence process. The instructor brings years of experience in all aspects of the franchising industry. Attendees are encouraged to bring their specific questions to the workshop.

This workshop is free to the public; however space is limited so reserve your space today by calling 508.586.0500 x 225 or emailing [email protected].

195 Westgate Drive, Brockton

Dana Mohler-FariaThe featured speaker is Dana Mohler-Faria, President of Bridgewater State University. Few people personify the spirit, mission and character of Bridgewater State University more than its 11th president, Dr. Dana Mohler- Faria. An integral part of the campus community for nearly two decades and a lifelong resident of Southeastern Massachusetts, Dr. Mohler-Faria has followed a path of achievement that undoubtedly resonates well with many of the college's nearly 10,000 students.

President Mohler-Faria is the first person of color to lead Bridgewater State University and is only the second Cape Verdean in the United States to be elected the president of a higher education institution. Shortly after becoming president, Dr. Mohler-Faria undertook an aggressive plan to expand the number of full-time, tenure-track faculty at the University. He also founded Connect, a Southeastern Massachusetts partnership dedicated to advancing the regional mission of public higher education. Under his leadership, the college endowment has grown to $17 million is the largest for any state college in the Commonwealth. In addition to his work as president, Dr. Mohler-Faria also serves as Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick's special advisor for education, an unpaid position in the governor's cabinet.

Good Morning Metro South is being sponsored by Lincoln Technical Institute and St. Joseph Manor. The cost to attend is $20 for members and $35 for future-members and includes breakfast and networking opportunities. For more information, call Kim Prosper at 508.586.0500 x 231,

On Exhibit: In the Picture with Warren Mather, featuring 27 works by this innocative ceramic artist. A constant innovator, Mather developed a technical process of firing photographic, video, or computer generated images in glaze on a ceramic body. The images are printed in glaze onto wet clay using a silkscreen before the bisque firing, followed by clear glaze and final firing. The result is an image that seems to emerge from the clay rather than simply printed on the surface, and is capable an astonishing level of detail and clarity. The exhibition runs from October 9 through January 23, 2011.
