On Exhibit: In the Picture with Warren Mather, featuring 27 works by this innocative ceramic artist. A constant innovator, Mather developed a technical process of firing photographic, video, or computer generated images in glaze on a ceramic body. The images are printed in glaze onto wet clay using a silkscreen before the bisque firing, followed by clear glaze and final firing. The result is an image that seems to emerge from the clay rather than simply printed on the surface, and is capable an astonishing level of detail and clarity. The exhibition runs from October 9 through January 23, 2011, and there is a reception on October 24 from 2-5pm.
