Inspire Youth: Become a Choices Presenter
CHOICES focuses on academic self-discipline, time and money management and goal setting. Business and community volunteers deliver CHOICES workshops throughout the school year. A workshop consists of two 50-min class periods delivered on two consecutive days. A detailed plan and activities help the students understand each section. The plan is flexible so each volunteer can add personality and experiences to the program.
CHOICES is a GREAT workshop, both for the kids and the Presenters! It is so REWARDING to see the light bulbs go turn on inside kids' heads when they realize they can take charge of their lives...but they're also responsible for their choices. You can help teens face the REALITY of what would happen if they dropped out of school. CHOICES asks what they are doing about their future NOW and what they plan to do about it in high school.
If you would like to be involved in CHOICES for the 2010-2011 academic year, please contact Kathleen Lynch, Connecting Activities Coordinator, 508-586-0500 x 227, Klynch@metrosouthchamber.com. There will be a presenter training at the Metro South Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, August 24, from 9am-12pm. Each presenter will be asked to commit to at least 2 workshops. |
