Minister Vernon Chappel grew up in a family of music in Bakersfield, California. He and his siblings sang while his mother was a choir director in the church.
Now Vernon is one of the most sought after praise and worship leaders in the field. He has devoted 30 plus years to the music ministry.
In addition to being a singer, Minister Chappel is a songwriter, arranger, music director, minstrel, psalmist, and First Tribe Media Recording Artist. Vernon has facilitated his pularity as a songwriter for other artists.
His most successful song recorded by Beverly Crawford in 1995, "Jehovah We Praise You", would emerge as a household worship song sung by many nations.
Vernon has traveled throughout the United States and other countries such as Bermuda, South Africa and Europe, conducting music and praise and worship conferences. Minister Chappel was selected songwriter of the year for North and South Carolina Waljo Awards.
He served as National Praise and Worship Leader for Bobby Jones Artist Retreat and has been featured on TBN and TV 1's Gospel according to Jeff Majors.
Minister Chappel is the founder and CEO of Unity in Praise Music Conference of California. He presently resides in Raleigh, North Carolina where he serves as Music Pastor for the River Church, Inc. with Pastors, Bishop Joby and Sheryl Brady of Durham, North Carolina.
