American Farriers Team News

The 2011 American Farriers Team had a very good year. We learned a lot as we went and this has led us to try making a few changes to the 2012 team. We are going to concentrate on Stoneleigh and gear more practices towards preparing for England and being more successful while there.

What we are going to do this coming year is have 3 to 4 practices before Stoneleigh. All these will be funded by the AFA as will the trip to England. We are going to drop Calgary as a paid team event. This way we will free up a little more time for our team to spend at home and practice for England.

As for the team clinics for our chapters, we are going to try something different which we feel will give more back to our members. There will be 3 AFT clinics available to our members and chapters. Two of the AFT members will do a 2 day clinic and these clinics will be available after the team returns from England on a first come basis. There will be no team practices at these clinics, just hands on and demonstrations for the host chapters or members. I hope this will be a good way to give back to our members and help our team be more successful in England.

If anybody has any questions please do not hesitate to call me.

Many Thanks,

Conrad Trow, CJF
