We at the office have no clue where it the Weekly Email vacations, but we suspect it is the beach. (We only hope it doesn't go to the Jersey Shore house, because that would be embarrassing.)  Fear not! It will be back in September.  The website is not allowed to take summer vacations, and will remain current throughout the weeks of the summer, and our worshiping life will continue as well.  We will gather for Holy Communion every Sunday at 9:30 am.  The Rector will take her vacation in August (we are not sure where she is headed either, but we suspect that she, too, will head to the beach) and Father Franklin Vilas will be preaching and presiding in her absence.  

 

Please join us on the first Thursday of each month at 12:15 pm at the Morristown Club located at 27 Elm Street in Morristown.  The luncheons are open to all male members of the parish and their male guests.  For more information please contact Alan Enos at 908-234-1321 or aenos4@verizon.net.

Stop by to tidy up the Memorial Garden and surround.   Join us!  At least one of us will be there (Jane Mercer, Katie Porter, Jane McKnight, Beirne Donaldson, & Constance Silverman).  Giving a little of your time by sweeping, weeding, and such will help to keep this lovely area at its best.  

We are in need of weekly volunteers.  You can cut the grass any day of the week, as long as it is cut by Sunday in preparation for the Sunday service.  A sign-up sheet is located on the bulletin board in the hallway near parish hall.  For more information, please contact Beirne Donaldson at  973-476-0410.

Hosts are needed.  It's easy; all you need to bring is a small treat as the lemonade is provided by the church.  A sign-up sheet is located on the bulletin board near the front door.  Weather permitting, Lemonade Hour will take place outside in the front courtyard.  Beginning July 1st, Lemonade Hour will immediately follow the 9:30 am service.

The summer worship schedule begins this Sunday, July 1st. Throughout the summer months, there will be one service on Sundays; Rite II, Holy Eucharist with music in the Church at 9:30 am.     Professional Nursery Care will be offered on Sunday mornings from 9:15 am-10:45 am in Room 2 of the lower level.   A simple Lemonade Hour will immediately follow the service.

The Choir of St. John on the Mountain invites you to join us during the summer Sundays of July and August!  Rehearsals are brief, starting at 8:45 am in preparation for the 9:30 am Eucharist.  During that time we will prepare hymns, service music and a simple anthem for worship.

 

This is a great way to try the Choir (with no strings attached!) or to simply be a part of the choir if your schedule does not permit during the year.

 

No advance notice is required.  Just show up on any Sunday morning in the Choir Room at 8:45 am beginning July 1st and enjoy the music making!
