Summer Lectors Needed

Please contact Louise Vivona-Miller if you are interested in serving as a Lector in the summer months.  Our summer schedule, of one service at 9:30 am, will begin on Sunday, July 1st.  Louise can be reached at lvivonamiller@gmail.com or 908-229-5824.

Summer Choir

The Choir of St. John on the Mountain invites you to join us during the summer Sundays of July and August!  Rehearsals are brief, starting at 8:45 AM in preparation for the 9:30 AM Eucharist.  During that time we will prepare hymns, service music and a simple anthem for worship.

This is a great way to try the Choir (with no strings attached!) or to simply be a part of the choir if your schedule does not permit during the year.

No advance notice is required.  Just show up on any Sunday morning in the Choir Room at 8:45 beginning July 3rd and enjoy the music making!

HomeSharing 5K

Many parishioners have expressed a desire to focus more of our Outreach efforts locally.  Our Mission Commission financially supports HomeSharing a non-profit, non-governmental agency which seeks to combat homelessness in our area by matching those who cannot afford local housing prices with those who have homes but need extra help to remain in them.  We would also like to encourage St. John's members to become involved individually with this organization.  A good way to begin would be to participate in the 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Run at Duke Island Park in Bridgewater in support of HomeSharing on Saturday, June 9th, from 10 a.m. to noon (registration begins at 8:30am).  Information and registration / pledge forms will be available at Coffee Hour and from Wendy Argent-Belcher (908-766-1011) or other members of the Mission Outreach Commission.
