Confirmation Preparation and Adult Inquirer's Class

 

Classes will be held in Easter season to prepare those who are seeking confirmation on the Feast of Pentecost on Sundays at 9:00 am in the Parish House classroom.  All are welcome to attend these classes, which will be an overview of the riches of our faith and traditions.  Anyone seeking to be confirmed or received in the Episcopal Church should contact Mother Susan for more information. The weekly topics are as follows: 

April   29   The Book of Common Prayer

May    6      Holy Baptism

May    13     Holy Communion

May    20    The Episcopal Church

 

 

The Chorus of Communities in Essex County will present its' 23rd Annual Spring Concert "Te Deum Laudamus"

on April 29th at 3:00 PM.

 

The ensemble is under the direction of our Director of Music, Richard Morgan and will be accompanied by Brian Preston Harlow (St. Luke's, Gladstone).  The concert will be held at St. James Episcopal Church, 581 Valley Road in Upper Montclair.  The program will include the Te Deum to Empress Marie Therese by Franz Joseph Haydn and the Te Deum by contemporary British composer, John Rutter. In addition to these two great works, the program will include choruses from Haydn's Creation and music by Brahms and Mendelssohn. Tickets are $15 ($12 for Students and Seniors).

 

Men's Luncheon Thursday, May 3rd 


Please join us on the first Thursday of each month at 12:15 pm at the Morristown Club at 27 Elm Street in Morristown.  The luncheons are open to all male members of the parish and their male guests.  For more information please contact Alan Enos at 908-234-1321 or  aenos4@verizon.net.

 

Ecuastore

on Sunday, May 6th


The Ecuastore returns just in time to do your Mother's Day shopping!  A collection of crafts and jewelry made by Ecuadorian artisans will be on display.  Join us in Parish Hall on Sunday, May 6th beginning at 9 am.  Choose from a large selection of unusual handcrafted jewelry, embroidered and woven goods, and carvings from the craftswomen of our Companion Diocese.  Don't forget that Mothers' Day is the following Sunday, May 13th; buy something lovely, just in time.

 

Outreach Sunday on Sunday, May 6th


Come to the Parish Hall after the 10 a.m. service on Sunday, May 6th for the chance to talk to Outreach Commissioners about the work of the Commission and to learn about the charities that they have supported over the past few years and how you can get involved.. 

 

St. John on the Mountain Wine Tasting Saturday, June 2nd

 

Please join us for a Magical Summer's Eve at Cold Brook Farm on Saturday, June 2nd from 5-7pm for a Wine Tasting Event with Food Pairings, along with a Silent Auction.  There are three different levels of donation, beginning at $35.  All proceeds from the evening will go towards our Outreach, Education, Music, and Worship programs.  Click here for invitation.  Space is limited, kindly RSVP by May 25th.

 
VBS Summer Camp June 25-28th 

 

Children ages 3 through rising 4th graders are welcome to join us as we "Journey to the Olympics:  It's a Golden Opportunity" from 9:30 am - 12:00noon.  Kids will learn, create, and have fun.  Join us for sports, games, music, snacks, Bible stories, and cool crafts!  The cost is $60 per

child (with a $150 cap per family).  Registration forms are available on the church website and in the Children's Library.  Space is limited.  Scholarships are available.

Habitat for Humanity

Ten volunteers are needed for all the essential components of home construction including; foundations and masonry, framing, sheathing, roofing, and siding, wallboard, painting, trim and interior finishes, site work, trenching, grading, raking and seeding, clean-up and storage of materials, trash and recycling. Lunch is provided.
