MAKE AN ADVENT WREATH this SUNDAY, NOV 27TH

In lieu of Sunday School, the children will meet in the Parish Hall at 10am to make Advent wreaths. All materials will be supplied.  A donation of $5 per wreath is suggested to help offset the cost of materials.  Adults will have an opportunity to make wreaths during Coffee Hour.

STEWARDSHIP/EVERY MEMBER CANVAS UPDATE

As of Monday, November 21, we have 57 pledges totaling $213,854 for the 2012 EMC campaign.  We have a few new members pledging (always a good sign) and some big pledges in hand.  But we also have a ways to go to surpass last year (115 pledges for $343,509) and achieve this year's goal of $370,000 in pledges.  If you have not already done so, please send in your pledge card to the Parish Office by Monday, December 12th. If you misplaced your Pledge Card or did not receive one in the mail, extra Pledge Cards can be found in the narthex or  click here to download a copy.  You can also call the office at 908-766-2282 to have one mailed to you.

ADVENT LESSON & CAROLS on SUNDAY, DEC 4TH
We mark the season of Advent with the traditional procession of Lessons & Carols by candlelight at the 10am service. The Parish Choir will sing works of Palistrina, Willcocks, Vaughan Williams, and Wood. 
ART SHOW VOLUNTEERS' BRUNCH

As a show of thanks, to the many Art Show volunteers who spent countless hours donating their time, there will be a brunch on Sunday, December 4th, after Coffee Hour, in the Parish Hall.

Did You Know You Can Donate Your Stocks to SJOTM?

 

What are the benefits of giving stock, instead of cash, to charity? ADVENT QUIET DAY

Please join us on Saturday, December 10th from 10am-2pm, with lunch, for an Advent Quiet Day here at St. John on the Mountain.  We will be joined by St. Mark's, in Basking Ridge, to spend a day of prayer and reflection, led by Father Rick Morley and Mother Susan Ironside, and we will contemplate the Angel Gabriel's announcement to Mary, and her brave response, "Let it be unto me according to your word."  Please RSVP to the Parish Office 908-766-2282 or email office@sjotm.org.

DECEMBER LADIES' LUNCHEON

CHRISTMAS PAGEANT 2011

The Christmas Pageant will be held on Sunday, December 18th during the 10:00am service.  The pageant is open to all interested PK-12th grade students.

ADOPT-A-FAMILY for CHRISTMAS

Help save a struggling family's Christmas by providing an uncooked meal.  It's easy!  Just buy the makings for a meal, and deliver it  uncooked to your Adopt-a-Family. The sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board.  For more information, contact Pete Ackerman jbajr@comcast.net or (908) 537-9905.
