Youth Group Field Trip this Sunday, October 16th

Please join us at the amazing corn maze at Middle Valley Farm, 304 Pleasant Valley Road in Mendham.  This is truly a challenging maze and is always a fun event.  We will gather immediately after church for a light lunch and then head over to the maze.  Pick up is at 2:00 pm. Thank you to Katie and Jim Porter for once again sponsoring this event.  The rain date is on Sunday, October 30th.

Blanket & Bedding Drive

The Rite-13 group will be leading a church-wide Blanket & Bedding Drive for the benefit of the Somerset Foodbank families.  This is in response to the flooding in Somerset County.  Please consider donating the following items: pillows (NEW only), blankets, bedding, sheets, pillowcases (new or gently used). Please wash everything and place in a plastic bag, labeled with the bedding size and bring to church between Sunday, October 9th and Sunday, October 23rd.  Now is a great time to clean out your closets!

High School Volunteers Sought

On Friday, October 21st The Mountain Art Show is looking for help serving food at the Preview Party from our high schoolers.  This is a big event for the church and the high school youth's help is needed and appreciated.  This is a great way to get community service, meet interesting people, and see some great art!

The 31st Mountain Art Show

Sign-up to Help as Either a Volunteer or an Angel Donor!!

As this is St. John's major fundraiser, everyone is encouraged to help in whatever way possible.  The sign up boards, with a variety of volunteer tasks and Angel Underwriting Opportunities, are in the Parish Hall.  Your help is appreciated.  Many thanks to our first five Angels Click here for more information.

All Saints' Day 2011

During the Sunday services on Nov 6th we will remember in prayer the names of those who have been buried from SJOTM during the past year. This is referred to as the necrology.  In addition to reading the necrology, we would like to include in print the names of those who have gone before whose lives have especially touched or influenced you in your journey of faith.  Dedication forms are available in the Parish Office and at the door to the Parish Hall or click here. Please submit your dedications to the Parish Office by, Monday, Oct 24th.

Holy Baptism

We baptize primarily on those dates set aside for baptism, as listed in the Book of Common Prayer.  Since the presence of the community of faith is essential for welcoming the newly baptized into the church, baptisms take place in the principal service on the appointed Sunday.  The next date for Holy Baptism is Nov 6th, All Saints' Sunday. Questions about baptism? Please contact Mo. Susan at rector@sjotm.org.

Food Bank Network of Somerset County

SJOTM parishioners will staff the Food Bank Pantry each Saturday in November from 9:45am to noon at the United Reformed Church, 100 West Main Street in Somerville. All are invited, including older children, to help interview clients, bag and distribute food. The sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board. For more information, contact Pete Ackerman jbajr@comcast.net or (908) 537-9905.

Adopt-A-Family

Parishioners have the opportunity to buy and deliver ingredients for an uncooked meal to a needy family, for Thanksgiving and/or Christmas. The sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board. For more information, contact Pete Ackerman jbajr@comcast.net or (908) 537-9905.
