Help us to celebrate Mother Susan's first day with us at our Annual Fall Kick-Off Parish Picnic immediately following the 10:00am service. Fellowship will supply the hamburgers, hotdogs, buns, condiments, and drinks. Please bring either a side dish, salad or dessert.  Come one, come all, as we welcome Mother Susan on her first Sunday!

2011-12 Coffee Hour Host schedule

By now you should have received in the mail a  2011-12 Coffee Hour Host schedule (click here for schedule).  In an effort to involve all families, coffee hour will be assigned to each family one time between the months of September 2011 and June 2012.  If you can't make the Sunday that you're assigned, we kindly ask that you swap with another family.  Preparations are minimal and implementation is easy (click here for directions).  We all love Coffee Hour and this vital part of Fellowship.  By having everyone involved, we can all be a positive force for St. John's If you have any questions, please contact the coordinators, Sue Catlett at 908-955-7109 or Sue Kennedy gdirak@aol.com.

The 31st Mountain Art Show is up and running!!  

All the Juried entries have been judged, all the letters to the artists have been sent and all the Preview Party invitations have been stuffed and mailed thanks to a hard working group of women! If you know someone who would be interested in attending our Preview Party on Friday, October 21, extra invitations can be found on the table just outside Parish Hall.  As this is St. John's major fundraiser, everyone is encouraged to help in whatever way possible.  Starting today, the sign up boards, created by Erna Haueis & Doris Aufschlager, are in the Parish Hall.  Your help is appreciated.  Next to the sign up boards is the Angel Sign-Up sheet.  Please consider underwriting the expenses of our show so that we can once again bring in $35,000 for the church as we did last year.  Many thanks to our first three Angels who have covered the costs of printing the Preview Party invitations, The Best In Show prize and flowers for the show.  Click here for more information.

September 30th Grace Soup Kitchen, Plainfield, NJ

The hours of serving are from 11:30am to 1pm. Please arrive by 10am and leave at 1pm. The volunteers do not need to bring anything. Any questions, please contact Fenn Putman at fennironia@earthlink.net or (973) 543-7017.

There is an Art Show meeting on Sunday, October 2nd, in the Parish  House Meeting Room just after the 10am service.  Any and all interested parties are encouraged to attend this meeting.

Blessing of the Animals

In celebration of Saint Francis' Day, we will have a service for the Blessing of Animals on Sunday, October 9th on the Chapel steps at 1pm. All creatures, great and small, are welcome to attend with their owners. 

Holy Baptism

We baptize primarily on those dates set aside for baptism, as listed in the Book of Common Prayer, and since the presence of the community of faith is essential for welcoming the newly baptized into the church, we only do public baptisms. Food Bank Network of Somerset County

SJOTM parishioners will staff the Food Bank Pantry each Saturday in November from 9:45am to noon. Location: United Reformed Church, 100 West Main Street in Somerville. All are invited, including older children, to help interview clients, bag and distribute food. The sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board.
