Fruit Cup Collection

We have pledged to collect 200 small containers of non-perishable fruit, for at-risk children, for the Social Action Food Packing Projects, which will take place on Sunday, September 11th.  Please bring donations to the box marked "Fruit Cups" located in the narthex before Thursday, September 8th.

September 11th Service

The tenth anniversary of Sept 11th falls on a Sunday this year, and we will mark this occasion and remember those who died on that day during both of our worship services (8am and 10am). If you would like to include the name(s) of a friend or family member to be read during these services, please submit those names to the office by Wednesday, September 7th.

An Evening Service of Reflection and Hope
On Sunday, September 11th at 6:30pm, there will be a community-wide 9/11 observance hosted at the Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church. A speaker will give an account of experiences that day and the changes wrought upon his life. In addition, students will share their vision for the future, in the hope that the community gathered will move from somber reflection and feelings of sorrow to a stance of hope and civic engagement.

Mother Melissa's Last Day will be on Sunday, September 18th

We plan to celebrate Mother Melissa's ministry with us and wish her well with our love and thanks at a special coffee hour following the 10am service.  Please make every effort to attend that day. Click here to read a farewell letter from the wardens.

The Reverend Susan Ironside's first Sunday with us will be on
Sunday, September 25th
Please join us that day as we welcome Mother Susan.  To learn more about the calling of the Reverend Susan Ironside, click here to read a letter from the wardens.  Click here to read a letter from Bishop Councell.

Youth Group Pool Party & BBQ

The Youth Group will be kicking off the year with a pool party & BBQ at the Morash home on Sunday, September 18th.  We'll meet right after church until 2:00 pm.  We will be collecting school and office supplies for Kids Corp, which has been helping children in Newark since 1971 with after-school and summer academic programs, environmental science camp and a free health clinic.  So when you're out buying school supplies, throw in an extra notebook, back pack, or pack of pencils to donate to Kids Corp.  Hope to see you on September 18th.  Kindly RSVP to Diane Morash at [email protected].

Lemonade Hour

Please sign up for a Summer Sunday and be a host or hostess.  All you have to do is bring a small treat as the lemonade is provided by the church.  The sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board outside of the kitchen door.  Weather permitting, Lemonade Hour will take place outside in the front courtyard so we can all enjoy the new landscaping!

We are still in need of Plant-Waterers and Grass-Cutters

Help us to keep our new plantings alive and well by signing-up to water them. The grass can be cut any day of the week, as long as it is done by Sunday in preparation for the Sunday services. Sign-up sheets are posted outside of parish hall. For more details, please contact Beirne Donaldson at 973-543-2633 (home) or 973-476-0410 (cell).
