Greetings fellow teddy bear lovers & happy new year to you! I hope this finds you enjoying your days, whether surrounded by beautiful white snowfall or basking in the sunshine and sand... here's to always having a wonderful teddy bear to share your space in the world.
I would like to sincerely thank all of our friends who've sent their good wishes in the wake of the recent tragic event here in Tucson. The outpouring of support, prayers and assistance extended to our community has been nothing short of miraculous. Here in the "little bear store that could", we just want you to know you are greatly appreciated.
If you've been following Mostly Bears for awhile, you may recognize our title above. "The Bear's Den" has been the name of our snail-mail newsletter since we began nearly13 years ago. Is it possible that we've finally caught up with technology? :) I do hope you enjoy the new e-format.

| What's New!

The Steiff 2011 launch is now history and the new North American and Worldwide Limited Edition collection have been revealed. As always, there are some really wonderful pieces in the collection. We'll be highlighting a "Steiff A Day" in February on the blog (click here to take you to the blog); we hope you'll come join us and see what's new!
We really like this year's rendition of Fozzie Bear, the companion piece to 2008's Kermit the Frog. He's a LE of 1500, a North American exclusive piece. And he just looks like a lot of fun!
Of the Worldwide LE's, we must highly recommend Arco Polar Bear. This bear on 4's is cut from the same mold as last year's Grizzly. At 55 cm in size, that's just over 22 inches, this polar bear will be a force. Just as the amazing Grizzly before him, I expect this guy to be a sellout. If you are wanting Arco Polar Bear, pre-ordering is probably the way to go. All of the new releases are available for pre-order on the website here.
If Charlie Bears are "what you crave", as they say, prepare yourselves ~ bear lovers the world over are "abuzz" with anticipation for the upcoming release of 2011 Charlie Bears Part 1. | Bears For Charity & PIF Bears

Our new raffle for charity is up and running. This time around, we're supporting our friends at Stable Influence Therapeutic Riding. The prize is this AWESOME Hansa Tiger! Tickets can be purchased on the website here. You can visit Stable Influence here to see some lovely photos of their events and to read about the amazing help they provide to so many families. Thank you in advance for your support! As for PIF... ? What are PIF bears? Well, they are Pay It Forward bears, of course! Last Christmastime, we began tucking a softie, huggable (and free) bear into some of our shipments for the holidays. The recipients were simply asked to gift the bear to someone else in a random act of kindness...
So, next time you order from us, check the packaging carefully, there may be a stowaway on board, a PIF bear from Mostly Bears :)

 We had a surprise visitor to the shop last week: TOBY! Congratulations to our friends Laura Sanchez and Steve Schutt for their very-much-deserved win of a 2011 TOBY award! Their collaborative piece, shown on the left, is an impeccably dressed blue-velvet-clad sailor bear. I can vouch for the fact that he's gorgeous in "bearson!" SS Sailor is available in a limited edition of 10 pieces and I am told as of this writing that there are only 3 pieces left for preorder. If you would love to adopt this amazing bear, send me an email and I'll put you in touch with the artists. |
